Re: Pantry? Moths

Well since I did the sub change so far I've seen no moths. I'm pretty sure they were coming from the tank, as I had seen a grub, they form the stringy silk under the food dish, there were "clumps" in odd places that may have been eggs or an egg sack of some kind, and moths that couldn't quite fly ye...

Re: Pantry? Moths

Well 250 lbs of sand and 3 bricks of Eco Earth later and hopefully I'll have some moth free substrate. Sadly I found a lot of empty...and not so empty shells from over the years.:cry: I've had most of these guys for about 10 years and they had been with other people before me in not great cond...

Re: Pantry? Moths

Well so far everything I've done hasn't seemed to work. There's been times when I think they're gone and they come right back! I'm going to do a complete sub change now to hopefully permanently get rid of them. I've been seeing some even outside the tank and want to keep them from getting all over t...

Re: Pantry? Moths

I hadn't fed them seeds, but I seem to have gotten rid of them (or almost!). :cheer: Clearing out the top layer of sand, cleaning decor, continuously scooping out sand under the food dish (where they were making strings), and then killing any moths I saw seems to have worked. I'll post an update if ...

Re: Pantry? Moths

Well, I just found a grub under the food dish. So I'm thinking they must be originating from the tank. I'm just hoping I won't have to replace the entirety of the sub to get rid of them. Thanks for the advice. I'll boil what I can, clean everything down, and remove substrate.

Pantry? Moths

I seem to have an infestation of what I believe are pantry moths in my tank. No matter how many I kill more keep coming. I'm not really sure what to do to get rid of them? Has anyone experienced this before? Edit: (If they aren't pantry moths they're tiny and silvery if that helps) I also don't know...

Re: Mealworm Brand Switch Not a Hit with the Kids

It's interesting because I believe these are also produced in the Americas but they do have a different moisture content according to the label as well as being different sizes. I wonder if it is that it's a different species.

Mealworm Brand Switch Not a Hit with the Kids

I usually feed my hermit crabs the freeze-dried mealworms that come in smaller bottles by Fluker's, but they're one of my PPs favorites and I go through a lot. A few months ago I bought a large bag of mealworms by TradeKing but they seem to like them less. I've had my father taking care of them whil...

ID HELP: Little White bugs everywhere! Edit: Also brown?

I've been away at school and now that I've returned I noticed tiny white bugs crawling all over food scraps in the sand, and the second story caddy in my tank. From what I was looking at are they food mites or springtails?? I just want to make sure my crabs aren't in any danger. They actually got on...

Thanks! Do you happen to remember the name of the person from Amazon?

Re: Transition From 1 1/2" to 2"

Yeah, I've looked at the resources page, I usually buy shells from Naples Sea Shell Co. Even on ebay it seems all the shells have 1 1/2" or smaller openings or 2" and larger openings. Finding an intermediate sized opening seems to be a challenge.

Transition From 1 1/2" to 2"

The biggest of my PPs are currently in shells with about 1 1/2" openings. I just purchased some new shells for my PPs and the next size up that I could find, were shells with about 2" openings. The new shells look incredibly large next to them. Is there anywhere to find something in between? Has any...

It might work with one, I just thought it might help keep it from popping out. :)
