New Puppy

Haven't been on much lately because we got a puppy! Trixie is a 6 month old chocolate lab mix from the humane society. She is settling in nicely. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190617/61168770bf3cdbdfc603ac2726680990.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190617/5a7e25b033350a9e22c1fc4194d87807....

Re: Quick question.

When he is active and has more color.

Give him healing foods like honey, calcium, and protein. Don't forget fresh and salt water, too.

Do you have some moss you could throw in his ISO so he doesn't feel so exposed instead of substrate?

Released our little buddy from ISO today

Three cheers for this not-so-little little buddy who I am saying made it through his post - molt processing! We moved and had to dig up our buried crabs. This guy was pretty pale and lethargic so I isolated him. He finished off his big claw a couple days ago and more and more color has returned to h...

I like glass tops. It gets dry here in Minnesota in winter too. Stays nice and warm and humid. :)

Stalks, stems, and leaves & flowers (no roots). Yes, it was organic.

Re: Hermit crab

Yes, it will still be fine for most climbing wall stuff. What's it made out of? If it's super thick 2-3"+ thick, you might have more trouble with it?

Re: Heat

Any idea what it would take to heat a 50 gallon? I'm thinking about upgrading but not sure what size uth or how many. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk Get the 11" x 48" UTH from Reptile Basics. It fits on my 55 gal and 65 gal. Double check measurements. Works great. [emoji1303] Sent from my SM-...

Re: Crabbing Smells: Is there anything I can do?

Yes the basil did help my tank. Did you see my post? Try looking on Amazon for air filters. Read the reviews. Be careful of too cheap a filter because they break soon and their replacement filters are very expensive. I got one with a permanent filter and I love it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapata...

Re: Sick crab

So, the problem is...? He is just lethargic?

Also, the bottle cap could have just tipped over.

Re: Crabbing Smells: Is there anything I can do?

Original Poster here! I figured out the problem (shortly after originally posting). It was tossing old food in the trash can that made things smell bad. I've been using my garbage disposal in the kitchen sink to dispose of old food since I posted that. I also make sure to take out fresh or raw foods...

Re: Do hermies hide shells?

I just moved and dug up my 55 gal tank and there were at least 10 shells buried. I don't know if it was intentional or if they just got buried when they dug.

Re: What are your crabs up to?

One of little guys was hanging on the lid fold while I tried to take care of their stuff. He was content there even when I was going in and out of the tank like crazy. Got to love the bravery of the big ones! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190602/0b8eaf50d0176bb647993c4f7c9c9eca.jpg https://uplo...
