Re: My first one back up!

Molts can be so stressful. For us that is! One of my original crabs went down for a molt and I didn't see him for almost 7-8 months! And he was a small one! He had an injured eye- so I'm assuming he did back to back molts to fix it. I'm sure he probably snuck up and I just didn't see- but when I fin...

125 gal build :D

in your signature says you have 2 violas and 1 indo, how did you get the indo?! My Indo I got from and adoption. Her name is Poseidon. Because she is a giant and rules the tank! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160404/a2bf71c000b5398765f6795037caac2b.jpg I actually got all 3 exotics from t...

Re: Using a watering can to keep that substrate moist!

I'm voting on team caution... Watering can seems like a bad idea. If you are misting- have moss pits- and have a bubbler going in your pool your humidity really should be decent. I would follow rawrgeous's advice and check to see if your gauge is working. Also how is your tank covered? If you have t...

Re: 125 gal build :D

Tomorrow I will be gathering the crabs that are up from the old tank and transporting them to this new one. I will get the pools and shell shop set up before I put them in. I also ordered some more mineral supplement and goodies from THCP, that should arrive Monday. I always have a bowl with mineral...

Re: 125 gal build :D

I'll have to look for the post that had the best climbing structure ever. It was a bunch of cork rounds used to make a tree- and the top part had open moss pits. It was amazing.

Re: 125 gal build :D

YES! I am getting so inspired! I have a 20 gal and soon I'll start working on my 55 gal. Could you explain more about how you are doing the background? What would you like to know? I have an forest aquarium background. I used cork bark- which I cut a slice off to make it a corner piece. I siliconed...

Re: Just got my first 3 Coenobita Clypeatus!

Crabs can heal these types of injuries. Usually they will shed the leg and then very very slowly grow it back. You will see progress of this after each molt. I would suggest lots of protein rich foods. That little guy needs to store up energy! Good luck!

Re: Putting in sand with dug down crabs?

I do it all the time. The trick is not to dump anything in and collapse anything underneath. I usually use a garden trowel and slowly sprinkle the mixed sub in.

Re: Why does my crab hang out of his shell occasionally?

Iv seen my crabs do this too. I usually turn on my fogger to cool them down (in case that's it). But a lot of times it looks like they are cleaning out their shell. Just my guess tho!

11 crabs up for adoption...possible?

Wow I really feel for you in this. I have had 3 separate adoptions and never once paid anything. The First Lady gave me 2 crabs in a tote tank with a ton of supplies- she slipped some money in the supplies because she knew how expensive they were and how rare of a hobby it is. She's a rare soul. 2nd...

Re: Big move for a lot of crabs!!! Advice for moving crabs n

Nope! It's actually my existing tank at my old place- and my upgraded tank at my new place. I'm trying my hardest to get my new tank set up and start moving my crabbies to their new and improved home- but I worry about transporting the crabs while moving tank products. For instance my UTH is on the ...
