Crab went from normal to nearly dead in 2 hours.
I have, they have a constant supply of a protein mix and I still feel them krill and shrimp twice a week each then crickets, meal worms and blood worms each once a week. They always have plenty of protein and calcium.

Crab went from normal to nearly dead in 2 hours.
Poor thing, that had to have been hard to watch, I'm sorry. Well, as of right now she's still alive, but she moves very slow. I've only seen her eat honey, so I'm not sure if she has an appetite. I put her in the main tank to watch how she would do and she was instantly attacked by a much larger cr...

Crab went from normal to nearly dead in 2 hours.
I put her in ISO with some water and honey, and she hasn't moved since 3. I think she's gone but she doesn't smell, I don't want to dispose unless until I know for sure. She hasn't fallen to my knowledge, or hurt herself in any way I can imagine. Her last molt was 2 months ago, it was her 4th molt w...

Crab went from normal to nearly dead in 2 hours.
I apologize for not being on here much recently, I'm about to graduate from college so it's been pretty busy.Anyway, when I came home for lunch today all of my crabs were fine, and they have been for about 8 months. But when I just came home I found a crab on her back sticking out of her shell with ...

Post-molt crab still being attacked
I gave her a bath yesterday and one today and they are still going after her as soon as they see her. Also, is it possible that during mating season even crabs in captivity can show signs of mating agression? There is literally always protein in the tank and there are plenty of shells to do around, ...

Post-molt crab still being attacked
She finished her exo in a day, and she's back to her original color and she is completely hard. She's tired of being in a tiny cage, I don't blame her! Crabs are still after her, I'll try the bath.

Post-molt crab still being attacked
When I was doing a deep clean on Saturday, I found a freshly molted crab. She couldn't have molted more than a few hours before I found her, she was bright pink and very squishy looking. I quickly got a small KK and put her in it with some of the old substrate, placed in the exo, ect. ect. and put h...

I purchase mine online from the Hermit Crab Addiction Store. From my experience, they are the most reasonably priced and reliable site to get cholla wood. They have a lot of different lengths and shapes to choose from too! Here's the link.http://www.hermitcrabaddiction...l/dt33598/WOOD_ITEMS

Also, cholla wood is really great to put in tanks. It holds up to the humidity really well, doesn't seem to mold very easily, has holes in it for the crabs to climb easily, and I even catch mine snacking on it sometimes. It's their favorite thing in the whole tank to climb on and sit on all day.

mold!!!
I just looked through the archived information on here and I couldn't find anything specific. I remember reading somewhere that it can begin to grow in their shell or on them, so I would look for that. I had a piece of wood mold about 3 months ago in my tank, and unfortunately I didn't notice it for...

I'm not 100% sure on all of the answers, but I can try to help with the way I have been doing things.1) Yes, mold is very harmful. I'm pretty sure it messes up their breathing and if it gets bad enough it will kill them. It's something that should always be removed and taken care of right away.2) I ...

Good bye :(
During our deep clean we found a crab that had buried over 5 months ago, which wasn't a surprise. We also found one more crab who had already molted twice with us, but didn't make it again. Lucky was tiny and she liked to sleep inside the cholla wood during the day, she was always so fun to watch. A...

As gross as it sounds, the predator urine seems like a really good idea, thank you! I'm just waiting for our "frost date" to pass so I can begin planting.

I didn't even consider the salt, thank you for pointing that out. Good thing we haven't started yet!
