Re: New terrarium moss... making my tank smell like a swamp?

I posted last year about my tank smelling like earth/dirt when I added the spahgnum moss too, then I changed it to the flukers long moss, with the dirt on it, and that stuff sucked big time the crabs had a hard time trying to bury in it, they couldn't, so I changed it to green moss and that smells t...

Re: Update to my situation(food moss & crabs for adoption)

Well Yeti and Athena are now in their new home, currently a 29g iso tank so they can destress and get acquainted with the new environment. They will be joining their new colony in either the 75g or 50g tanks the lady has after a month. I'm sad and happy, I cried. She was very nice. She wants to buy ...

Re: Sand problem venting

I have a 20g high, I needed 75lbs of sand and half a bag of ee(the biggest bag) to get 7 and a half inches. I added the other half bag of ee and another 5 to 10lbs sand and got 9 inches

Update to my situation(food moss & crabs for adoption)

Hi guys, I can't find my post from a week ago when I decided to put my crabs up for adoption due to food mites so I figured I would just make another and couldn't decide where to put it. Anyway, it was recommended I contact another hermit crab site in hopes of help with adopting these guys out. And ...

Do the food mites just die off or something?

I've noticed in the last two days much less movement from the food mites, and I've done nothing to get rid of them other than change the food more often. I'm finally starting to feel better from the flu and I am wondering where the bugs went? Do they die off our are they just hiding? Athena and Yeti...

Re: Please help I have bugs

If you'd mind separating them for a bit I could build a tote for the above ground ones, then what you'd like to do from there would be up to you. If you have any updates, let me know. I just want to help. :) I would be willing to do this, Yeti and Athena have grown close, they sleep together every ...

Re: depression??

My family's crabs love having a moss pit. We accidentally discovered this when we were thinking about adding a fresh water fish environment. We put the plastic tub in for the water but before we could get the water in, the crabs filled it with moss and branches. We just recently upgraded their tank...

Re: Please help I have bugs

How soon do you want to get them to a new home? I live in Ohio, around 30 (?) minutes from Columbus. I don't think I could be a permanent owner, but I could definitely care for them until another experienced owner in the area appears and you approve of them. Edit - I would be keeping them in their ...

No. You should not go looking for your crab unless an emergency has occurred, like a flood, crabs will do under the sub for months and months and it's normal. Stressful for us, but normal for them.

Re: Aussie Breeding Success Dec 2016/Jan2017

Do you plan on keeping them all? If so, how quickly do you think you will have to upgrade tanks as they grow? Sent from my C5215 using Tapatalk Yep I plan on keeping them. My adults are going into a 4tf tank in the next two weeks or so. Then their current tat which is 60x45x45cm will become home to...
