Did you confirm that he was actually dead or not?

Re: Moving Crabs

To be honest, Given Stella’s history I do think that you should be proactive about the situation. It’s better to be safe than sorry. You don’t want to overcrowd the tote, and the E’s were the last ones that you added to the tank, so maybe move them to the tote? That’s what I think. Good luck! Sent ...

Re: Barnacles

I use them, but haven’t bought them at a store like this.
My concern is wondering if the barnacle was treated.

Re: Betta fish questions!

I have been keeping bettas for three years. The info regarding tank setup is all good information, so your covered there :) I do not recommend neon tetras with bettas, because those fish require colder water, while the betta needs a tropical temperature of 78 - 82. I recommend harlequin rasboras, em...

Moving Crabs

Do you think moving some of my crabs to my large tote is a good idea? I have a 55 gallon, and it has nine crabs, two being ecuadorian. Should I move five PP's to the tote, leaving the main tank with two PP's, and the two E's? I will either move four or five, leaving the main tank with two to three P...

Re: Just Some Inspiration

I have seen this before, and it’s creative. It’s not far off from the 500 gallon wooden enlcosure that was made on a YouTube video as well, he used the same misting system. I don’t like using glass tanks for pools, mainly because one could leak and cause major damage, and it takes up a lot of subst...

Re: Long Wait

Should I dig? I was very inpatient a while back, and wanted to dig so badly, because I used to do it all the time when I was inexperienced. I deeply encourage you to stay calm and patient, just let nature work things out. Hermit crabs can take months on end for molting, so it’s normall not a concer...

Re: tank vs tote??

I agree, wood is super expensive, well stated above.
There’s a lack of clear totes around here, but the largest I found was a black tote of about 50 gallons.
I thought of building a wooden enclosure, but the price of the project stopped me from doing it.
