But I've got a few that have stayed on for about a year now. For all I know one of them yanked it off. LOL Sent from m...

Feeding time

They get a smidgen of this, a pinch of that, a dash of this other and some slivers to round it out. I do believe tonight is deer night. I love these little measuring spoons.Image

Re: New crab, strange initiation to the crabitat?

I assume you dipped the newby in the water before adding him/her? I've only added the one and he was an E, smaller than my PPs, he marched over to one, got right in his face and promptly got flipped to the other side of the tank, then he went to the shyer PP and that one hunkered down and the first ...

Re: Substrate/your opinion

So long as your crabs are growing, active, healthy and such. It's the right way. I'm a firm believer in, if it's not broke, don't fix it.

Re: Tank topper questions!

I have to lift a heavy mesh lid with a piece of glass duct taped to it now, can't be much worse. LOL

Re: Tank topper questions!

I have been considering something similar, been toying with the idea of glass, with a knob glued on each end and trimmed in either plastic or rubber.

Re: Don’t know what to do with heat mats?

Hopefully someone recalls the name of the place, Bean something. They have a heat tape? Something like that, it's customizable. That would be your best bet.

Re: New to molting - need reassurance!

Everything sounds good and I'd like to say that the first molt is the hardest, but it really doesn't get any easier. We just have to wait it out.

Re: Molting Questions

I know I ask a lot of questions, but I just want to be well informed and I have learned so much so far and I appreciate all the advice, but I do have a few questions to just clarify /elaborate on when it comes to molting. It’s been about 2 weeks, going on 3 tomorrow, that both my crabs have been do...

Re: How long?

I've had them down for almost 4 months, talk about nerve wracking. I've got one down now that I'm pretty sure is gone, but there is no smell, so am waiting. It's been 5 months or so.

Re: Crab hanging upside down from lid?

Mine cruise around upside down on the lid nightly, sometimes they start early and it makes it a bit difficult to change our the food bowl [emoji28]

Re: 35 gallon tank

I had glass cut to fit the mesh part of the lid and duct taped it on. I started with plexiglass, but over time it warped.

Re: Building an Aquarium Stand

I bought my Cholla wood from Etsy, Cholla queen I think it was. I just boiled saltwater (marine) poured it on it , let it cool then let it dry and put it in the crabitat.
