How do you keep from pitching the little beggars?

Most of the time the crabs food dish is pretty much empty when I go to refill it. But one of the guys went down (doubt he molting, just partying down under going by the noise). So the dish was getting sort of fluffy. Ended up having to pick through it with a flashlight to get all the baby isopods ou...

Re: Another Recipie Highwires Seafood Buffet

Mine are lazy, they won't bother with the dried pieces. When I run it through the grinder they go all out for it.

Re: Complete diet mix for hermit crabs?

I have 9 different mixes, bought from a couple of etsy stores. I keep them in threes. I use those tiny clothes pins to keep them together, 1 protein mix, 1 fruit mix and one weedy type mix. I rotate those. I also offer a calcium, worm castings and a raw protein (tiny slivers of meat). Real fruit whe...

Re: Can I use string in crabitat?

Have no clue on the string, but I would get plastic canvas and cut strips and put it on the cutout parts. I rather like the slide look.

Re: Sealers

Wonderful, thank you. I'll do the spare lid before I remove the glass from the lid that's on it now. That will give me plenty of time to get the old one cleaned and sanded. The spare just needs sanded and painted. A couple of days drying before I go taping glass to it. Sent from my SM-J337A using Ta...

Sealers

I have a mesh lid (type for snakes, lizards and such) it has glass over the mesh part which I have duct taped down. I've lately noticed rust. I need to take it apart and clean off the rust. I have another one which I will move the glass to, but down the line I figure this will happen again (same typ...

Re: Is my crab stuck under his sand?

There have been times when I'm sure one of mine was practicing for the drummer's position while he was under.

/quote]That's awesome! I have those sliding pads and never thought to pop them under the stand. My stand sits on carpet but those sliders would still probably work. Too late now though lol. Re: Food Storage ideas

I keep mine in little ziplock bags inside a Tupperware container. One for dry food and one for frozen.

Crabs are just weird. And who knows what all they have stored in their shell. Might not have to move for a month. LOL

Re: hot summer and heating problem

I have the mesh lids (made for reptiles) I had a piece of glass cut to fit the mesh part and duct taped it down. Works great.

Re: Hard water spots??

I have used salt, aquarium salt on fish tanks. You use it like an abrasive. Not much good if the tank is occupied.
