Re: Pesticides and Fertilizers

Thanks, I knew I read it was possible a while back but wasn't sure of the time frame. I'll definitely do some research before attempting it.

Re: How Long is Too Long for a Molt

We have had crabs molt anywhere from 2-3 weeks for quarter sized up to 4 months for ones in Almost tennis ball sized shells. Large crabs can molt for around 8 months! They can also be sneaky and coming up at night to eat then hide by early morning. The best is to just ride it out and wait.

Re: Pesticides and Fertilizers

So it is possible to buy store bought plants and flowers not know if pesticides and fertilizers were used? As long as you repot in organic soil and detox them for 3 months or longer?

Re: Hows this setup looking?

This is looking good for a first crabitat. As curly mentioned deeper water dishes depending on the size of the crabs. We use plastic food containers and use plastic crafting mesh attached with zip ties. You can also use a second container and keep that in the substate. That way when you change out t...

Re: Crabs fighting?

I had the same thing happen when I added a rescue crab to my tank. One of my original guys grabbed the new one from behind. I heard chirping from the new one and quickly separated them. Then he went after the same crab again. I added a few new shells after dipping them in salt water and the attacked...

Edit: I think instead of making a new threads every time I upload new crab clip I will just add it here to the first post. I think it will be easier to find the videos rather than trying to search through a bunch of posts. 12/20/18 Take The Spaghetti and Run? Beelz decided he wanted to eat in priva...

Re: Crabbie Cam Videos (Updated 3/24/19)

I finally updated with a few more video's today 6/16/19. Uploads include: Three of Eddie as I was caring for him after finding him missing all but one leg. Three clips of Diablo having fun eating popcorn out of a food puzzle cube. As usual videos links are posted at on the first page on the original...

Re: Enrichment Toy?

I finally managed to get some video of one of one of my guys having fun playing with the cube and pulling the popcorn out. Sorry the video's are only a minute. I kept them short to post them on Instagram. It took Diablo about 5 minutes to find the cube with popcorn and she picked at it for about an ...

Re: 150g topper and spruce up

I really love the look of topper. They give so much extra climbing and more decorating options! Your crew will love exploring! It's awesome how you added the basket into the climbing area too. I often wondered how much the temperature varies from the original tank level to higher up in the topper an...

Re: Bloomsburg, PA - 3 (maybe 4) PPs in Search of a Good Home

How soon will you be moving and needing to re-home them? We can possibly adopt them, I have been debating upgrading my 20 G to a 30 soon. We are also going to Crab Con near Buffalo in mid July. I can potentially put a feeler out to see if anyone there may be interested in adopting them as well. Ever...

Re: Heating help

That is a similar type to what we have. We have been using a brand called I Power ones for about a year now with no issues. They really help keep a steady temperature year round. My temperature stays within two degrees of my temperature setting. I like knowing I have more than enough of a heating so...

Re: Heating help

We have our heaters hooked up to a thermostat we purchased from amazon for around $20. You put a probe from the thermostat into the tank, plug the heater into the thermostat, plug the thermostat into the outlet, and set what your high temperature limit. The thermostat will control the tank from gett...
