Re: messy messy crabs
It's a never ending issue! They are destructive! I've put the extra shells on a second level to help prevent them getting buried, but they knock them down and bury them anyway. They always kick sand in the waters and foods. I've put food dishes on a higher level too. Just be careful that when straig...

Yes! That's a fantastic store! We have ordered many foods several times! That's one of my top favorite stores!

Re: So many isopods!
I've been there and done that! It's not funny, but I'll never have isopods in my tanks again! I had a bacterial bloom and lost them all, plus one crab. I personally wouldn't recommend them in tanks at all, but only based on my experience, which is very similar to yours.

Re: Should I add two small crabs to the main tank?
I have large crabs in a tank with ccb's and they all get along well. Make sure there's enough shells of all sizes for all the crabs. I've observed that the smaller crabs learn a lot from the bigger larger crabs

Re: Side Mounted UTH with an insulation foam background?
We have UTHs on the back and one side of all our tanks. It gets really cold during the winter months and the side heater really helps.

Re: calcium supplement meant for humans?
I'd say no. Too many unknown ingredients, plus added coloring. I know I wouldn't give that to any of my crabs.

Your water pools should be deep enough for him to fully submerge.

Re: Test Run: Garlic?
I've only had hermit crabs for 20 years. They are not white shrimp. And I don't speak any other languages other than English. I only speak from experience. Right on Joe! I love all the references! Good job!

Re: Test Run: Garlic?
I wouldn't give it to my crabs. If I ever have any doubt at all, I refrain. I would never test on my crabs, or any animal.

Re: New Crabitat! (Feedback please?)
Nice upgrade! Watch the netting on the back. Crabbies try to go thru the holes and could get stuck or tangled. Do you have any playsand mixed into your substrate?

Re: Attaching Plastic Egg Crate to Tank
What size tank do you have? We use tension rods. I wrap them with hemp or jute rope so the crabbies can grip them. You can attach other climbing stuff to the egg crate too, like Cholla, fake plants and shelves. I recommend using a pair of sharp wore cutters for cutting it. Scissors are difficult and...

I agree with Motorcrab. No need for a substrate change.
