Piggy eating again!

All she does is eat! The fresh food dish was in the tank maybe 2 seconds. She went from running from the human (in the wheel) to eating! It's been about a month since she came up from her molt. I named her Piggy and she still lives up to her name! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190626/b434bc9c6e...

Re: Can I move a molting crab?

What's the need to move him? He's down molting. How long will you be gone? How long has he been down?

Re: How to know when exo has hardened?

I dip for 2-3 seconds just to cover the whole crab. Another thing, what kinds of foods are you giving in the iso? I give honey, bee pollen and proteins (animals, bugs, worms, seafoods). Honey is good for energy. Pollen is healing and proteins, well that's just a given! Lol! How is he behaving? He ma...

Re: How to know when exo has hardened?

If it were me, I'd wait a week and see how he's doing. Eating, activity and such. Then I'd dip him in salt water before adding him back into the tank. I'm not saying that's right or wrong, that's just what I'd do. When we get rescues or adopted crabs, we always dip them in salt water before introduc...

Re: Crabitat stand

I'm assuming you are asking if your stand will hold a tank. Need more info on order to attempt to reply. I know when I was looking at furniture as a stand, the box/directions stated how much weight it could bear.

Re: Perlatus in a Turbo sarmaticus shell

We bought 2 for our crabbies and they never bothered with them at all. So now we have expensive decorative shells.

Re: Hidden Preservatives in Fish Meals

Wow! I had no idea. We buy our foods from members here. I wonder if they know. Now I wonder if the krill, plankton and anchovies we buy from pet stores and Walmart have those additives. Have we been accidentally feeding our crabs poison?

Re: Dead crab?

I burried him tonight. I named him Poor Ole Tom after the GWAR song. I feel like it's my fault. I should have bought him months ago when I saw him, but I didn't. If only....[emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]. He will live on thru the beautiful purple passion plant. I'm so sad. Would he have lived if I woul...

Re: Dead crab?

I know exactly what you mean. I bought my snake over 20 years ago. She only eats mice. I can't watch. My tarantula is a rescue. She was abandoned in an apartment left to die. My Friend moved in and asked what to do. I said I'd take it. It didn't deserve to die. Yet, 100's of mice that I buy, die to ...

Re: Dead crab?

Eeewwww! I guess that's the only option. I'll try that tomorrow. I'll need tissues because I know I'll cry. I was so hoping I could save him, but I was too late. They had a whole tank of crabs a month ago. I didn't buy any. They were all dead the last time I looked. I still didn't buy the survivors....

Re: Dead crab?

That's the thing, he didn't fall out of his shell like they normally do when they die. He's tight in his shell. I just checked again now. No smell yet. I don't want to bury him until I know for sure he's dead. I think he is, but no smell and he's tight in his shell. I'm not sure what to. It's been 1...
