Re: Is this normal crab behavior?

Hermit crabs are normally nocturnal. Many of us have Wyze Cam cameras set up so we can watch their nighttime antics. I've seen some videos on YT from cams inside crabitats. I want one too! I can probably keep a better watch on this little stinker with a Wyze Cam. Thank you for reminding me about a ...

Re: Is this normal crab behavior?

I did, I wasn’t connected to WiFi when I was trying to view them but it caught up a little bit after I posted that and I got to see the other two. My phone does that sometimes in the shared iPhone pictures or videos for some reason, it moves faster on WiFi. I love how he chases you back and forth, ...

Re: Is this normal crab behavior?

Lol! Omg that is too funny! I know this must be a hard situation to deal with but that video is too cute. He doesn’t want anyone near his shells, I love his little personality. LOL! There are two picture links and three video links, did you see all three videos? Crazy crab! Now he's running over to...

Re: Brutus, the guard over all the crab shells! Help!

Mine do this as well, as far as I can tell it’s not a behavior to be concerned by. :) EDIT - If I do worry, I usually take a long object like a pencil and tap the offender on the back of the shell. This puts them in defense mode. Oh that's a great idea! Yes, great idea! I will use a long little sti...

Is this normal crab behavior?

This is Brutus. He's the cutest little thing! https://postimg.cc/grg7wyrK https://postimg.cc/7bt9j7LC I've had him for about 3 years now and he is very protective over all the crab shells. He watches the shells all the time and won't really let the other crabs check out the shells without running up...

So cute! [emoji3059] I have a Brutus too! He is my largest PP, I adopted on May 3, they were all named and I kept their names. Here is my Brutus. I call him “Bruty”, he’s such a sweet big boy. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190626/8d7592dfcf7a2271ae8999886c699894.jpg Oh he's a beautiful deep co...

Standing guard

The guard over all the shells. Don't let his cuteness fool you, Brutus is a a mean little snit! He wants to steal everyone's shells even if he knows they won't fit him  I get tickled at this one, he's very entertaining https://i.postimg.cc/rwpj891z/65096301-696139107498154-7077198869276131328-n...

Re: Just a few cute hermie shots

Not sure what size tank you have but depending on the size you will want a block or more of Eco Earth coconut fiber (online or pet store) and play sand (at any hardware store) mixed together. Wet with dechlorinated water (any dechlorinating water conditioner in fish supplies). You should be able to ...

Re: Naked buried crab

Yes, don't rebury! If the crabs are hard and moving then they should be fine to bring to the surface only if something goes wrong. I didn't know you had more than the two when I told you that you should gently go after the naked crabs. You were very lucky that you didn't dig up a fresh molter which ...
