Re: Questions About Feeding

I am by far no expert in the matter but acorns do need to be pesticide free, so watch just going out and grabbing them from any where. Leaves of any kind also need to be pesticide free and I have heard, too nervous to try, I just put them in the tank like a moss pit. I've always read honey was more ...

Re: DIY chia plant garden for crabitat.

Can they eat chia seeds? Do they like them? I have some that I use in my morning smoothies, make chia pudding, and over night oats with. But I have never thought to feed them to my crabs. I also have quinoa but didn't know if they could eat that. And of they could, could they eat it dry or does it ...

Re: Isopod?

Newbie here, but from what I have read the ones they buy (you can find that in the resources part on here, where u can also find great places for food.) Don't actually go in the tank for about 3 months. U need a separate tank so they can breed and populate, then move them. Crabs eat them too so if u...

Re: Crabs climbing in a cluster

What's your weather like? I have read that before storms some of them climb like the would in the wild. Pretty neat if that's what happened.

Humidity constant around 92. Safe?

I know that humidity is supposed to be 80-85. My hermits were a rescue and at first I kept lifting the lid to relieve some of it but I would forget and come back to 65% so I started just leaving it and they seem active and fine, I guess. Lol. They were rescued and to be honest I knew nothing...

Re: Mu Grew! (w/ proof)

If your are unsure it's the same shell because the color isn't as bright, how many times have you boiled it, I have heard it will decrease color over time. I'm too new to say from experience, but I believe I have read it a couple times.

Re: Trying to help ,but now I need help!!!!

Thank u for replying. What about the move? How long does it take to stabilize? Or are they ready once temp/humidity read... Edit: terrarium is what I'm referring to. I used to own numerous fish tanks and we had to have them set up a week before fish could be introduced. Are crabitats the same?? Or r...

Trying to help ,but now I need help!!!!

:crabblush: Ok, so my friend got 5 hermit crabs from a pet store. I went to her house and she had ALL of them in a critter keeper. I told her she needed a bigger tank. Long story short, I traded her a 29 gal tank for 2 of her poor crabs. I am a new crabber, but research everything before I commit. S...

Cook grains? Or just put package?

I am a new crab owner, but want to feed my babies the best I can. I eat Quinoa and was happily surprised it made the list. It is organic, but do I need to cook it or not? And another question is bananas, they obviously turn Brown 5 minutes after putting them in tank. Is it safe to just put them out ...
