Re: Does anyone know how to add a second floor inside the tank?

I have used a wire shelf with craft mesh attached. I attach the shelf to the side with command strios. And use a bird ladder for them to climb.

Yeah according to that they are about 1.5" so small and we need a 12.5 gallon tank for 5. So I guess we are good, it just feels small :)
I think it will always seem small. I have 8 in a 90 gallon tank. With everything and their holes there's hardly room for the food dish.

Could one of the crabs that passed been an exoskeleton? What if the crab you found in the drawer was the real her and the one in the soil is just an exo. Just a guess. Or that but switched around
That's what I was thinking.

Re: Trying to manage substrate moisture... Clueless

Hey y'all! My tank flooded last month (it was all EE), so this time around I've filled the tank with a 4:2 ratio of sand/EE. Problem is... I have no clue how to tell if it's staying moist enough below the surface! I've got one molter down, so I'm not doing any exploration below about 1 inch right n...

Re: Molting E in Bacterial Bloom & Lost Limbs

This was a real reality check on how delicate and environment changes can really affect hermit crabs. After you have them for a while you tend to forget. They may not be able to tell you outroght, "Hey human, I don't like this! Fix it!" They do let you know in their own way for sure. So do you think...

Re: Pools losing water?!

I'm lost here, my 8 cup pool is losing a ton of water. Seems like it isn't normal at all...I'm putting about 16ounces(a water bottle in almost every day. Am I missing something here? Heat stays around 80-82 degrees..and I'm not even noticing much help keeping my humidity up. Its a 40 gallon long. W...

Re: Crabs can’t grip/climb?

Hi! I bought 2 new crabs from a pet store - most of the crabs in the tank at the store were dead or what I assume to be dead, dying, or missing limbs. I bought the 2 that I figured may have a chance (this was about a month ago that I bought them. I noticed that the tips of their legs are broken off...

Re: What are your crabs up to?

I kept thinking he would drop into the pool. There's one crab that 3 times in one night dropped from the vine into the pool. Had to be on purpose. He created his own water park.

I keep thinking his leg will snap off. Guess he worked up an appetite. Notice him eating the moss? Lol

Re: What are your crabs up to?

I'm going to need a larger wheel or another one. But neither would fit in the tank.

Re: Mixing crabs?

Is it possible the new crab could attack the others or carry a disease or mites? Anything is possible. Before putting him in the tank quickly dunk him in the freshwater pool so he won't have a "stranger" smell. And as long as you are feeding them plenty of calcium and protein daily and have extra s...

Do you think addings
All pieces of lava rock under the
Sand
Would help drainage?
I would think water would still pool.
