Re: Pictures!

Nice locking crabs in cool looking shells. My best guess are PP’s for all three congrats! The top pic is kinda hard to tell. :). Most of my crabs like whale eyes and shark eyes they’re light with “D” shaped openings for shells..they’re always touchy feeling those.. my one prefers his turbo but I th...

Re: Pictures!

Too cute!! It’s so hard to grab some good pics sometimes..I have a crab that prefers that same type of shell too! I had to order more because apparently turbos aren’t its style lol I don't think there are any turbo shells in the tank. I'll be ordering some for the crabs to try once I can. C: Sent f...

Frozen Foods

I have frozen bloodworms and mysis shrimp because of my fish. Can I offer these to my hermit crabs? I'm worried about them spoiling during the night.

Re: Humidity

Once you have a hygrometer and know what the humidity is, you will then know what else you need to do. I don't have a moss pit or bubblers, and I rarely mist my tank. And my humidity is consistently around 90% or more. I have a hygrometer, I'm just not sure of the accuracy c: I'm also hoping to get...

Re: Humidity

What humidity and temperature gauges would you recommend? It needs to be accurate. And how should I regulate humidity? Spraying it several times a day does not seem to be working. I'm interested in getting some sort of automatic humidifier but want to know what brand works best. I'd prefer if every...

Update: two of the three crabs appeared. One explored before disappearing again, the other was eating last I saw it.

Re: Crabitat Build Help Needed

I ordered my thermometers from Amazon. It was a digital one with a probe that hangs in the tank for $20. Most people use the ones from walmart in the garden section, they're thermometer/hygrometer gauges that are about $5. For the screen lid, there's some on amazon for a 20 gal long that are about ...

Crabitat Build Help Needed

Hi! I'm planning out the changes to my crabitat while I wait for when I can finally order everything. I want to try and give my crabs the best that I can. So I have a few questions and want your thoughts on what I have planned so far. The tank is a 20 long. Unless marked with a * I do not yet have t...

Re: Molting or Hiding?

You won't know, LOL. Either way, you are NOT going to dig them up. Time will tell if they come up sooner or stay down for a long time. Patience is hard, but is the key to crabbing. My two have been down since the end of June! Wasn't planning on digging them up c: I'm just not sure if any of the she...

Molting or Hiding?

What are the signs a crab is going to molt? I have three new hermits, and this is my second night with them. Two are missing [probably buried] and the other was missing all day but came out once it was night. He's the boldest of the bunch and the only one with a name so far - Philip. How do I know i...

Re: Diet

Over in the FAQ and care sheets section, you will find the 'food pyramid' that explains nutrition really well. Edit - it's actually at the top of this section, in the nutrition by Killimanjaro post. Please don't feed the pellets, they are not safe. After doing more research today and last night I h...

Re: Hermit Crab Saltwater Help

Hello. No, I'm sorry. The hermit crab saltwater is not sufficient. You need marine saltwater. Products such as Instant Ocean, Red Sea are recommended. You want products that are sold for making a saltwater fish tank. If your local pet store doesn't carry it, you might need to order it off of Amazon...
