Pictures are a bit blurry but probably just springtails or food mites.

Crabs drop their shells when to weak to carry them, probably something wrong in the setup. I'd fill out an emergency fourm as this could be serious.

They mostly toe dip, but I've seen a few go swimming.

I do think the water temperature is to low but it could work if that was changed (the fish you have wouldn't mind if it didn't happen all at once and only up to like 75F).
