It's a weird slightly metallic smell. A smell you wouldn't normally associate with an animal. But yeah, sometimes there is no smell at all.
I'm picturing Wodesorel going around sniffing ladybugs and fireflies.

Re: Willow
Willow grows like weeds all over AK, and I have never fed it for the reason Wodesorel said. I won't take the risk.

Re: PHOTOBUCKET ISSUES!! (missing images)
They are crazy for asking for $399 a year! No normal person can pay that. Buy yeah, Sun and Mon are my days off, and fixing this will be top priority then.

Re: Underwater shell changes
Was in there for about 3-4 hours! Never had a crab under for that long. But he was a rescue, so probably hadn't seen salt water since he was plucked from the wild. I think he dug down to molt now because I haven't seen him in a few days. Hope he makes it.

Re: The Norwegian crabitat
I love your tank! And very cute ruggies. My crabs would destroy those live plants in about 2 seconds.

Re: HCP
HCP is awesome! I always get their basic diet for when I go on camping trips and stuff. Just fill their dish up and don't have to worry so much about hitting all the food groups. I also use it as food for my roaches and isopods. I also always buy the bulk FMR fruit treat from them. It's a commercial...

Re: When Did Live Hermit Crabs Go Bad?
She used to do really good business when I ordered ~2010. Even sent extras! Second time I tried a couple years later, it was how it is now. Took a while to get my refund, she wouldn't respond, etc. Don't remember if I had to initiate through paypal or if she did it on her own free will. Very shady. ...

Underwater shell changes
Last night a shell fell into the 2 gallon salt water pool. Today I watched as one of my crabs was exploring in the pool, found the shell, and changed into it! All while under water! He has been in the pool for about an hour now, mostly just sitting at the bottom, antennas in the bubbles. I've never ...

Re: Suggested plants for crabitat?
Unless you are putting them in for the purpose of being mauled and eaten, don't put in live plants. :P A very large and robust plant might stand a chance with tiny crabs, but they will still do damage. I used to sprout grasses in a container by my window and then put it into the tank when it was a f...

Re: Kind of a weird question??
I always rinse off any leftover exo I find during deep clean and add it to their calcium dish. Always gets eaten right away.
