Re: Shell too small?

Gotcha. I am glad that you were able to adjust the substrate, and I am sure you are both looking forward to his next molt.

Re: Shell too small?

Aaaaahh, I see now. I thought the picture showed him climbing the back wall, rather than the tank's bottom. Did he have a surface molt, then?

Maybe I'm confused. They wouldn't molt while climbing the wall. Do you mean his first shell change?

Re: Unable to find big shell that my crab actually likes

I have had a lot of luck with murex shells and with fox shells. The turbos get pretty heavy as they get larger, and some crab simply don't seem to like the extra weight. This thread has inspired me to try baby food for the first time. The verdict is still out on the turkey dinner baby food that is currently in the enclosure.

Cuckoo for Spanish Moss

I decorated the tank with some living Spanish moss. It took mere minutes for the crabs to start snacking. Good thing I set the rest aside to grow and harvest later. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171127/6c713ca75391d11b4d85eac630a7f142.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171127/0cbb3f3808ec23...

Re: Mealworms Snack Block

As others have said, that would be fine. However, it is going to fall apart and spoil the longer it's in the tank. You would be better off buying loose mealworms so that you can control portion and then remove them when they start to go bad.
