Re: Hermit crab just lost her small pincher. Please help
Just some things I noted which might of caused additional stress and made your crab Joy drop her claw. 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? Yes, located at top of tank, temp usuall...

Re: Halloween Crabs (Gecarcinus quadratus)
Wow; aren't they cute?! And their crabitat looks amazing - don't know much about them; but it looks awesome! :) As for the question; maybe look into a food area? Eg: have the food dish on a container if some sort where they have to climb in/out to get it? That way if they make a mess; they will make...
Re: New setup
It looks like a solid start... There is a couple of things I'm worried about though. - How big is the tank? It looks rather small and awkward. - How deep is the substrate? It's looking pretty shallow; but it may be due to the angle of the pic. - Water dishes; are you soon going to replace them with ...

Re: CrabTank 2.0 - upgrade from 10g
It's looking really cool! The only thing I can worry about is all that bare wire exposed in one pic! I heard of crabs pinching their way through the wire and causing electrical shocks. It's unknown if it does any permanent damages; but it's best to play it safe and cover them. Even getting them wrap...

Re: Argh! So close... so close...
They had already started to dry out under the lights. Once mom is no longer regulating heat and humidity and keeping them moving they don't last long. :( Arh; thats a bummer! It would of been a nice thought that the eggs got saved... :( Oh well; always next time! My other species were done by early...

Could you place them in the SW and see if they hatch... Similar to brine shrimp eggs; can they withstand being "out and about"?

Going on what Wod was saying; one can use a hand held drill (with a diamond drill bit); a steady hand and a tonne of patience! If serious about this; try resourcing tutorials about this to develop a strong understanding.
