The smallest i've seen available is ten gallons. You don't have to use the whole thing. It salt, so you can just scoop out the amount you need.

Re: sluggish crab won't leave water bowl
I think he was about a little smaller than a tennis ball and i actually have a theory about how dying in saltwater can be benefcial to the species. I think if a crab went looking for shells in the wild he'd probably look near salt water, so dying near saltwater makes it more likely that another crab...

Re: sluggish crab won't leave water bowl
We placed a towel over his tank to keep it dark, and have only been changing out the water at night so as to disturb him as little as possible. i guess i forgot to mention that. I have no idea how to treat an internal parasite. Time for some googling! and maybe i'll talk to my exotic vet, though gen...

Re: sluggish crab won't leave water bowl
No change. he's still chugging water. He pretty much sits in or around the waterbowls all day. He has a reduced reaction time too. he doesn't hide for about 5 seconds after i move my hand near him. I don't scare him on purpose obviously, i just have to change out the water bowls and he is always rig...

Re: sluggish crab won't leave water bowl
My pools in the iso are half of a plastic christmas ornament. I think they would hold around 1 cup of water. Because they are so curved they are big enough to cover each of the crabs. My dad says he follows the directions on the box for mixing salt water.

Re: Surface Molt Crab out of shell
in general, you don't want to touch a molting crab, unless its an absolute emergency. I would consider this an emergency.

Re: Surface Molt Crab out of shell
I'll say what i can and then have a more experienced member correct anything i say wrong. 1. We still need to know what kind of substrate you are using. Also, your substrate should be at least 6 inches deep, or 3 times the height of your biggest crab. more is always better. 2. You really want to bum...

Re: sluggish crab won't leave water bowl
i doubt i'll be able to get a picture of his abdomen. My dad is already asleep, but before he went to bed, the crab was partially retracted into the shell so i wouldn't see it anyways. i'll definitely walk my dad through the calibration process tomorrow when he wakes up.
