Re: Hermit crab not moving

Awesome! Then I'll try not to worry about him :) and I'll make the sand smooth to see if he moves at night.

Re: Hermit crab not moving

Not moving from said "favorite" space could be that he's trying to find a warm spot or a place with more humidity. More suitable for him either personally or all the crabs wish it was more humid or warm and you just haven't noticed the behavior in them?? Are his favorite spots near a wall with a he...

Hermit crab not moving

Hey guys! I'm quite worried about one of my crabs (Obsidian), and would like to hear your opinions about this. So, I have 3 hermit crabs, they're all small PPs. I bought two of them at a fair 6-7 weeks ago (Henke and Obsidian). The third one (Paras) I adopted ~2 weeks ago. Paras buried 2 days after ...

Re: Humidifier vs. Bubblers

If you made a humidifier out of an air pump, yes the amount is the same. You are aerating a body of water, which gets tossed into the surrounding area and releases moisture. A commercial humidifier that produces mist intended for a room will produce more DENSE moisture, and also uses different tech...

Re: Humidifier vs. Bubblers

Bubblers are basically DIY humidifiers inside the tank. All the parts are the same, but without the jar. The pools are the jars. It just splashes a lot and the moisture isn't concentrated. If you bubble the pools and used plants to create a canopy, you will get a very moist spot and the flooding wi...

Re: Humidifier vs. Bubblers

I attempted to make a humidifier twice. Both failed :( If you could get one to work I think it would be better than a bubbler, but since I've never tried one I can't guarantee that. As for bubblers, I've used them before, they help keep things moist from the splashing, however my crabs never showed...

Humidifier vs. Bubblers

Hey guys! I've got an airpump, and I was wondering what i should do with it. I'm thinking of doing a humidifier (the one that's a sticky here) or using it with airstones in both of my pools. Which would be the best alternative? I've read that crabs love the bubbles, but the most important thing to m...

Tea leaves

Does anyone know if would be alright to feed organic tea leaves to the crabs? They like dried leaves and flowers, so I was thinking that they should enjoy it if it is'nt bad for them? I did'nt find it in the food lists, so I'm curious if anyone have tried it :)

Re: Mites vs Springtails - Help Needed Quick

The first picture looks like a fungus gnat to me. They are harmless though very irritating (I hate flies!). I find them impossible to get rid of, I always have at least one or two in my tank and at my plants.. :/
