Re: All about Chirping/Clicking
Ooh! This seems like a good place to park a link to Jstor, where you can read a paper about seeing indos chirping via rubbing their uropods against their shells. You have to create an account, but it is free to read once you do. http://www.jstor.org/stable/20104538?seq=1#page_scan_tab_contents Good...

Congrats on the successful molt Weirdest thing is that he looks just like my little one, biscuit. She even has an almost identically colored shell as yours doesSonnyRayTWH wrote:He's still small but he grew a lot! Hey and it's the first successful most in the new tank!

Re: Suction cups or something else?
I've had problems with suction cups in my tank but what I found works well is to dip your finger in water and put a little on the back of the suction cup. Press it on real good after onto a dry spot where you want it hung. Seems to make them stick better. I second this. Make sure you have a clean s...

Re: What are your crabs up to?
My tiny crab leonardo, smallest crab I've ever had, took 3 months to do his molt and he was just fine
Crawfish?
I don't mean to sound mean or unethical here, but one of my pet crawfish died last night (assuming from stress?) and I wasn't attached emotionally because she was clearly not feeling good. She did do 1 molt in captivity and I think the male in there overmated her and stressed her to death  Bu...

"De-stressing" is not "distressing"
First I want to mention that I normally couldn't care less about a common spelling/grammar mistake and that I'm not trying to be offensive in any way. I see a LOT of people say a crab is "distressing" when they mean to say "de-stressing". I understand what they mean and I don't really mind myself, b...

Re: How to get rid of springtails?
like hermiearth said, you would have to do a deep clean (take out the sand and bake it or replace it, take out everything and clean it). Thats very risky if you have molting crabs under the sub though because you might disrupt their molt and hurt them. I can see how they could be really annoying, bu...

Re: Orange film?
We have a lot in common lol. I've used stress coat my whole crabby adventure (3 years) and never had any problems. Just try to stay around 0.5 - 1 ml per gallon of water. Try not to go over 1 ml.

Re: Orange film?
Sounds like you have iron in your water... We have well water and it does the same to our sinks/tubs around the drain. The color ranges from a pink to orange tint. I don't have this problem in my tat tho so I may be telling you wrong. Hopefully a more experienced crabber will chime in. Do you treat...

Re: What are your crabs up to?
I guess I never really though of how weird it is, but my PP strawberry is my biggest crab and only hides in the small cocohut that he can barely fit in. On top of that, my 2nd biggest squeezes in there with him! The big spacy hut stays empty 24/7. Its been months since anyone was in there... I wonde...
