Re: Which thermometer/hygrometer is best?

I just can't decide. The way I see it is that the National Geographic one may be better because it is made for what I need it for, while the AcuRite is mainly for outdoor and home use. I'm going to go to both Petsmart and Wal-Mart to check these out, maybe that will help make up my mind. Edit: Just ...

That looks sweet! Now I just have the problem of deciding which one to go with. AcuRite or National Geographic. Decisions decisions. [emoji51]

Awesome! Another good option for me to use. Thanks! How accurate is the humidity? I'm guessing you tested it at one point, with the salt test.

Re: Which thermometer/hygrometer is best?

http://mobile.walmart.com/ip/39174492 The sensor goes in the tank and you can sync up to 3 to the base unit if you have more than one tank. The display is wall mountable and you can take it down if you need to monitor the conditions somewhere else. It is so not fair. This is the new model, with mor...

Re: Which thermometer/hygrometer is best?

Nope. The new one had an LCD screen that can be outside the tank and two wired probes that go inside. I dont think itll show up on the website till April 31st when all of the PoGs roll out but most store should have already stocked them Well if I have time I will be making my way to Petsmart. I wil...

Re: Which thermometer/hygrometer is best?

PetSmart just now carries National Geographic dual temp/humidity gauges with a probe. 19.99 we just got ours out today I will definitely look into that, thank you! If you have a chance, tell me how it is working for you. I know you just got it, but if you check the humidity accuracy, I would love t...

Re: Which thermometer/hygrometer is best?

Mine did mess up quickly and other digital thermometer/hygrometers I've had in the past (that were designed for terrarium use) did too. It definitely sounds like the ones with a probe would be the better option. I often forget they're out there. I really should give them a try! [emoji38] You posted...

Re: Which thermometer/hygrometer is best?

I'm using this AcuRite (though I paid less in store for it), along with a few different brands of analog gauges. All need to be tested regularly and many, both digital and analog, are off by some degree. I like the AcuRite for the most part, though the bottom of the display did become damaged quick...

Which thermometer/hygrometer is best?

It is getting time to get a new thermometer/hygrometer because mine seems to be breaking, so I need some reccomendations. I bought a cheap one from eBay, and surprisingly the humidity was only 1% off, but I think it is now broken. What do you guys suggest? Which one are you using, and how accurate i...

Re: ReModel - With a few pix. Comments suggestions welcome

This is awesome! Very creative, and I love how you made the most of your space. I always want to add things to my tank, but I can't seem to get them all to fit. Can I ask where you get that cool bridge from? It gives me an idea to try to make one myself, unless I find one for a good price. I like tr...

Re: Second level material?

If you want to try this out, what I did for a second level for my 29 gallon tank was I took four sticks, some thin plywood from the craft store, and that "climbing background" stuff made out of coco fiber in the hermit crab section of pet stores. What I did was I drilled four holes in the plywood, o...

Re: Panama Hermit Crabs (soon to be pic heavy!)

I'm glad you all like them! I grabbed my dad's camera and started taking all these pictures, telling him that everyone on the HCA would love them! I was so excited when I saw them, and I thought I would share my neat experience with you guys!

Re: Panama Hermit Crabs (soon to be pic heavy!)

I wish I was there!!! So jealous! Also, if you did take one home, it would actactually be less cruel than adopting from a pet store. Those crabs are picked up from the wild and then shipped in sometimes terrible conditions. Just thought I'd point that out. No, I didn't end up taking one home. If I ...
