(Just out of curiosity) Handling Hermies?

That is a little scary to me. Lol I think I'd be a bit worried about having one on my shoulder. Lol! It'd be scary to me too if I hadn't had him as a baby. He's been riding around on my shoulders for years. ( when the weather is right ) He's a total puppy, you can even pet his back without botherin...

Flooring being redone! What to do with tank?

For moving tanks, it often better to move them while empty. Even though you can move them while filled with sand; I really suggest against it. There's a high chance that the tank will crack or the silicone will split. Is there a way you can put all your crabs in a tote for a little while? ~~~~ Is t...

Flooring being redone! What to do with tank?

Hey guys! So tomorrow, til God knows how long, the flooring in my kitchen is being restained. Unfortunately it's down the hall from the crab room and the new tanks. I'm going to move my jumbo out into a tote because there's no way the sand can be lifted out of his current tank. I'm moving all the cr...

Some of my crabs

Gorgeous little crab!! He almost looks photoshopped! [emoji7][emoji7][emoji7] I hope mine have more color after they molt like Tide's! The good news is the older they get, the more they darken in color!

Re: (Just out of curiosity) Handling Hermies?

My jumbo loves to crawl on my shoulder and when he was a small, he'd crawl all over my hands and run around on my desk while I studied. He gets let out every week or so now, maybe a bit more as his tank is mega too small for him and I can't set up his sixty til they finish the floors in the kitchen....

Re: What are your crabs up to?

I think I'm going to splurge on plexiglas to put over my screen lid instead of foil. Every time a crab gets up there and I hear their little feet hitting the foil, it makes me cringe like nails on a chalkboard. I did some major rearranging last night. I decided as a route in/out of the SW poo...

Draco up from his molt!

How much is spirulina powder?? Where can I get some?? Spirulina powder is, I think, part of the reason he's such a dark color this time. It's the highest known concentration of beta carotene. ( which is odd cause it's a fine dark green powder! ) you can get it at a natural foods store as a vitamin ...

Re: Scratched Exo after a molt?

Yup he should be fine just feed some protein and extra calcium in case he goes for a back to back molt. I considered that! And he got a lot of high protein/calcium the first two weeks he was back up, he's got a cuttlebone in the tank with him, but I'll make sure he's got more in his dinners. Thanks...

Draco up from his molt!

Wow! My sons just got their first crabs in early October. They have 8 total. They dream of keeping them for 30 years! Congrats! I have him and 4 other smalls that I adopted in December. I dream of them all being with me for 30 years! Him especially. I'm pretty attached. [emoji4] may your son's crab...

What are your crabs up to?

I'm normally charged with the crabs nutrition/feeding them but last night I had a migraine, so I asked my sister to just put out some dry food for them. I went downstairs tonight to check on my jumbo, Draco, who's been with me the longest ( the others haven't been with me a month yet, so they won't ...
