Re: My CL post worked!!

I may wait to really set it up until we move. Will probably just put dampened EE for now since its lighter than sand and put some that are freshly molted in it. He's happy to let me get the new tank but he won't be happy trying to move it if it's full of sub [emoji38] Zoo mom of 3 cats, a dog, a fis...

Re: Got my uth but...

6"x35" I think...covers the entire back of my 40g above the sub. I'm usually between 77-82 but I'd like to be at 80-82 and steady. I think it's my lid that's letting more heat than I'd like escape.

Re: Got my uth but...

Did the cardboard over the styrofoam help a lot? I did UTH then foil then styrofoam and sealed it all with tape all the way around but I'd like to get a few more degrees out of it.

Re: Salt & Fresh Water Dechloronators...How Much Is Enough??

A lot of de chlorinators come in small bottles that will give you a drops per gallon dosage. Usually easiest to make a gallon at a time so there's no math ;-) I've seen suggestions to get a gallon jug of water from the store and just reuse that bottle. Re: My CL post worked!!

Can someone confirm volume for me?

Image

I think that's like 140 gallons?

If so, I found the answer to my space issue lol

Re: Is Dift Wood From Fish Tank Safe To Use?

You might give it a good saltwater bath and a low temp bake to be sure that anything that could be bad for them is gone.

Tank layer ideas?

Like a full 2nd floor? It could for sure be done...platform with a cutout for a ramp, supports/legs and a ramp but you'd either want to leave enough of an opening to access food & water dishes on the sand below or you'd have to have the food/water up top. Or you could do acrylic/glass panels actuall...

Re: My CL post worked!!

I'm thinking the 2 really big ones didn't have any shell options at their previous residence. They were both switching like crazy so...I've got like 5-6 shells that are well sized for them & am going to order some more so they have plenty of choices and see if that helps. And let them gorge on good ...

Re: Tank layer ideas?

I've got a few 2-shelf corner shelves made of that white plastic coated wire and they're working out well. I wrapped them in jute twine for a more natural look and they're great...give me 3 floors and I can pop them out anytime. Zoo mom of 3 cats, a dog, a fish and 4 crabs (Balla, Spot, Twitch & Big...

Re: My CL post worked!!

Ah, the best laid plans [emoji29] the jerky big guy is exactly that. I got the 20g setup and the littler guys moved there before I took cranky out of crab jail to go into the 40g. All above ground crabs had gotten a dip in the FW pool before introduction but he still made a beeline for 3 different c...

My CL post worked!!

I'm thinking maybe 7 & 4...just need to decide the 4th to go into the "big boy" tank. All of the smaller guys are pretty small so I think they should be ok with a well stacked 20g until I can convince the hubs to let me get a bigger tank :-) he's just worried about moving even the 40g to the new hou...

My CL post worked!!

You think all 8 of the tiny-medium guys in the 20 & the 3 big boys in the 40? I'm ok with that but 8 in the 20 seems a little much too. And trust me...as soon as I got the 40 setup I was already looking to go bigger but hubs said no until we move in October [emoji17] And yeah, that tiny guy in the p...
