Infected Claw

Yes it does, and I think it is very possible. I have seen pictures before as well, and this is very similar. It looks like it is spreading. I made sure the bath coated her everywhere. Since she will not come all the way out, I do not know if it is affecting her within the shell as well. I was hesita...

Infected Claw

Well, I ended up soaking her with the solution as-is. Hopefully it will be okay. She did end up drinking some, and I left her in for only about 5 minutes. Now, when I say that it looks like an infection, here is what I mean. The pictures below are a progression with the dates taken. The picture (low...

Infected Claw

Nicole - I have made the mixture as the second set of instructions has stated, although I did add the marshmallow root as well. About half of it evaporated away as it was steeping though. I was wondering if I should add an equal amount of decholrinated water to it to make sure it is not too strong? ...

You might be a Hermit Crab addict if . . .

You might be a hermit crab addict if: You take more pictures of your crabs than you do of your 3 kids... combined.

Infected Claw

Nicole - this was a shell fight, and I do believe she was probably a few days post molt. I have the instigator in ISO (both of them) and am feeding them in intense diet. In the mean time, Hermes (above) is all alone recuperating. I feel badly for her.I did just clean her with the salt water treatmen...

I was thinking that the top part of her pincher was turning color, but looking back, it still looks the same. Here is a then vs now pic to compare though. Infected Claw

Thanks both of you.CA - Yes that is the recipe I am thinking of. It said to only use it for the injury/illness specified, so I wasn't sure if it was risky to use it. I am not sure if she is using the claw or not (and I had no idea that they bled blue), but she was using it earlier. I just don't want...

Infected Claw

I think Cutie Pie's claw is becoming infected. Either that, or it is dying (the claw, not the crab). It is starting to turn brown on the tip (both the movable part and the stationary part wit the injury) and to me, it just does not look right. I saw that there is a soak that I can make up for her. I...

RIP you two. I wish that you had had a better life, but I hope that the time in between the pet store and when you passed gave you a taste of heaven on earth and made your passing easier. Good bye.

Autism/Asperger's Syndrome

I actually agree with Mr. Crab's mom. I was just trying to say that you should start at the dr, but you are right... not all drs catch it. I realize that more than is apparent. What I wrote above is just scatterbrained. lol. I will add one thing: If you feel something is not right, then keep at it.

Autism/Asperger's Syndrome

marthachezem: Both Autism and Asperger's can "show up" at any time. With Autism, there is a speech issue, or delay that presents itself by the age of three. Asperger's does not have this. What you should look for is honestly varies from child to child. If you have a concern, I would bring it up to y...

Bob :(

I have finally accepted it. Bob is gone. I don't know what happened to you, but you were loved. We will all miss you. I promise to give you a proper burial when we move. I want you to stay with us, and not here where people do not care. I cared when I adopted you, and I care for you even in passing....

First off, I realize the plant that is actually in the experiment cannot be fed to the crabs, but I have a question about an aquatic plant. My daughter is doing a biology experiment tomorrow that uses the aquatic plant Elodea. It is an experiment on photosynthesis. They sent us two decent sized bunch...
