HCA: Hermit Crab Association

does any body know which of the nine hermit crabs in the pet trade are available in the u.s.? i have been getting mixed answers. can i found any land ones in hawaii? can you get blueberries in the u.s.? ruggies? straws? pp's? e's? viola's? cavs? indo's? aussies? blue's?

just out of curiosity how many crabs have people have? have any of you had some of the exotic species?

thanks for the advice, the problem must be the space, because the temperature is good for the most part, and so is the humidity, and i give them amazing food for pets, yeaterday i gave them cooked chicken, sweet peppers, banana, and coconuts. i have given them smoothies before and oatmeal, and toast...

i am using a lid that lets air in and you can slide it on, and my substrate is really wet. but today it was still at 90, so that improved, but thank you anyway. sometimes the guage is unreliable, so maybe you are right about it being broken.

ummm..., i don't understand why pet stores wouldn't know that painted shells are bad for hermit crabs! they should! i got my first crabs two months ago and i already know that! does petco sell any exotic hermit crabs? if you what kind? i am not sure? is your choice to buy them, just give them better...
