My crabs did the same..if anything is out of line they freeze up. They don't move, they don't eat! I have had the stank sand before to.. got to wet. You should always clean anything you buy to put in your crab tank. You don't know if people have sprayed chemicals to clean items, how many grungy hands have touched what you are buying.. I bought a net at either dollar tree or hobby lobby and I washed it with plain hot water..it had dye in it! Turn...

I had this happen to.. I tried to add e.e. to see if that would help suck up excess water, I found food to.. but in the end it was rotted substrate with bacteria..it just got worse..the crabs just got where they didn't wan to move from their spot. So I had to clean out the whole 55 gal. Tank now I m...

Well I don't recommend it.. but shhhhh... I tend to take some rocks from the hospital parking lots and boil them and make piles for them to climb or get more fake wood or real wood. If you have issues with real wood molding on bottom from.touching damp substrate set it on slate rock.. get some sturd...

Did you soak your wood in your salt water and dry in the oven? Warm moist conditions will bring out bugs in your wood you didn't know you had..

Ahhh sorry..it can take awhile sometimes before illness will hit a crab from poor type of conditions. I have had it happen and others on here to..it can take one thing and sometimes multiple things that will make a crab die..they say oh crabs are hardy pets...when in fact they are delicate creatures...

If and when the crabs go and if and when I'm still alive I want to get something to put in my 55 gal tank. Kyle says get a turtle.. I say no..they g...r..o..w! I don't think they would last to long in my tank. Illinois weather here in winter is to cold.. I don't think it's warm enough in the summer ...

I'm sorry you lost your bird..I just got a cockatiel when he was 6 weeks old and finished hand raising him. He is now 11 months old. Your bird may of been sick and you didn't know it. They hide their illnesses until it's to late. Puffed up or ruffled feathers, labored breathing, discharge from nose ...

I have had the black mold sand cause it got to wet and sat for a long time. I tried to stop it out but it just made my tank stink and I had mold pop up everywhere..I just tossed it all.I never had false bottoms

Make sure your substrate is sand castle consistency that will create your humidity when your tank warms up. Making sure you have the right size heat pad for your tank to. The pad warms the air in the tank so it will take a little time. What do you have for a lid on your tank now. If you have a scree...
