Re: isopods

Regardless of the area you live at, Isopods don't behave like...termites. They need more than pressure treated wood to live off, which is what they will find in your homes. They need leaf litter and such.

125g Build as I go...

The craft or fabric section of any big box store or a place like Joanns

Look for polyfiber quilt batting.
I bought a big bag...2 years ago for the fish tanks and I have barely made a dent in it.

Edit- do NOT get cotton or ANY natural fiber. It WILL rot.

Re: isopods

They can't crawl up the glass so I have no fear of them infesting the house.

Re: 125g Build as I go...

See, I don't think the spong cover would work. Crabs would eat/tear that down for kicks. What I am talking about is polyfill. I use it in all my filters as a polisher/bio filter surface. You know how when you get a new cartridge for your filters. How they have the cloth covering. That. All it is pol...

Re: 125g Build as I go...

I wonder....

Has anyone ever tried stuffing the intake with polyfiber as a barrier to sand?

Roly-poly or Pill Bugs are the other names you may know them as.

125g Build as I go...

Now that makes more sense. I was really scratching my head trying to figure out how people were putting 75g filters on Kritter keepers lol

125g Build as I go...

It's the fish keeper side of me that wondering honestly. The pools look to be no more than a few gallons at most. I would be very concerned about the current that would be generated by that large of a filter for only a few gallons. I may be wrong though. The pools are looking great :) Sent from my i...

Just wondering....

You say you bought the 75 gallon filters for both pools? Did I read that right?

Re: Organic raw fiber product safe?

I don't see anything on the lost of ingredients that stands out to me as being harmful although I am not 100% positive on the Stevia

Re: New here

14. What are breeder tanks and just tanks? Is there a difference and which should I but? A "breeder" tank is a tank that is wider and shallower than "regular" tanks. They are used in the fish keeping hobby to grow out fry since the surface area of the breeder tanks offer a greater oxygen exchange wh...

Re: My 55g

Yup, if you ever see a Jenga Oynx Edition at a thrift store...BUY IT. even if it's incomplete. Same goes for a game called Dark Tower. $$$

Re: My 55g

I love thrift stores. The "hunt" makes finally landing an item so much more fun....

For example... I just landed a Jenga game worth about $300 ;)
