Do you plan to keep the 10g outside? How do you plan on keeping the temp and humidity stable?

Re: Tote crabitat question
The only way I could see a second level even remotely affecting the molting room footprint is if it was also filled 6+ inches of substrate, and honestly, that's not a feasible idea. I tried when I was using totes, did not work. Your best option is to upgrade the tote. A second option is to set up a ...

Re: Tote crabitat question
Essentially you would just be giving them a topper, which doesn't really give you more room, except to climb. Do you have the room to go to a 30g tote?

Exactly how do you determine, to the day, when your crab is going to molt?Mr. Crabs wrote:Mine molts on April 19 and October 19.

Re: ISO tank size
I also don't take home the sick crabs. I know it's kind of heartless, but unless a crab has every sign of a recent molt, I don't bring him home.

ISO tank size
If you are going to set up an ISO tank, it's exactly the same as your main tank, the only real difference is that it's smaller. I use an 10g tanks myself. But the think still cost $40-60 to set up if you figure the cost of tank, substrate and UltraTherms. Also, I only use my ISO for hurt/injured cra...

Re: Molting Question
They have ways to get them out, including just reaching a claw in an YANK. Some times the weak crab will hold on, even allowing its self to get torn apart, sometimes they will come out and "streak" trying to run away. I am not sure why your crab was all white and puffy. Maybe @wodesorel can shed som...
Re: My 55g
I know it goes against the "norms" but, for me, the more I had in the tank. I was packed full of what I thought was fun climbing areas and even out wonderful the less they were actually active. Ever since I went a bit more simple, it's like a party every night in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tap...

Re: New crabs not coming out of shell?
I really recommend checking out some of the stickies on setting up a crabitat. I would link to the , but I am still figuring out Tapatalk. When I first started crabbing...a long time ago, i would take my crabs out to play ALL THE TIME. I also only ever saw them of I took them out. It is soooooo much...
