Re: Gearing up for new 29G
Oh I am in love with that little crab, you got such a great shot. <3 The tank looks awesome too with lots of fun places for hiding.

Re: hamster balls?
I'd worry that they could get their legs caught and break off. Plus, unless you live in a humid area like carol they shouldn't be out of the tank unless necessary for maintenance imo anyways. Mine really do seem to enjoy the plastic hamster wheel I added and it seems that many other people's crabs s...

Re: Tunnels and Moisture
Most people use a 5:1 ratio of sand and eco earth. If you don't have crabs down you can add sub freely, if you have some down you can safely add up to an inch a day, just don't pack it down.
Re: Stuck
I imagine if they absolutely can't get dislodged for any reason they eventually might, but I think that would be extremely rare. Crabs hold on to their shell as it is protection for their soft abdomen so it would take quite a lot to get them to just abandon their shells. Their legs and claws are act...

Re: mixing crabs
I imagine you will find it difficult to find e's, but it is possible depending on your region. Granted, I live in Nebraska and don't frequent pet stores, but I have only seen E's one time, and I think it was on accident mixed in with the purple pinchers. The other species of lhc are even harder to c...

Re: The new pants have arrived!
I pretty much only buy tapestry or green turbos. I've bought an oddball here and there, like a few jade turbos, but even the smallest ones seem so large that they never take them. My smaller ones seem to be willing to try almost anything, but the larger ones seem much more picky about their shell ch...

Re: Bell Pepper Seeds
So I found dried ancho and gave some to my crabs. Seems like they didn't even try it. Everyone says they like hot stuff. I imagine that as far as taste goes they are all different. What one may like, others may not. But keep trying to feed it here and there! Sometimes I feel like it takes me a coup...

Re: Native shells vs. Turbos
The crabs have their own plans man. At this point I just put the shells in and nothing they choose surprises me. I have a big one that is checking out shells that are way too small. She looks at them all carefully, and inspects them and puts a leg or two in- but never changes because they are sooo t...

Re: Dried fruits and veggies?
I like to dry my own too; it takes a lot of the guess work of "what's in it" out of it. But I find as long as you read labels you can find plenty of dried items to feed them. I tend to have more luck with pet foods. Mine are a huge fan of these freeze dried pure salmon dog treats I found on amazon. ...
Re: Rolypolys
That's too funny! I have no insight, but it must have somehow traveled in on something. Perhaps it was on moss or ee?

I agree with the above, they should be just fine. A bit of shoving and such is normal.

The new pants have arrived!
It was time to pick up a few more shells for the bigger guys. :) They are ao pretty this time; I forgot how much I love Naples! It's definitely been awhile! I usually order through Richard's, but I'm really pleased even if the one dolphin carved one is a bit chipped. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com...
