Re: Awkward Crab
I have one small PP like that... every night she'll go shell shopping - starting with jumbo sized shells and then large sized shells and so on - it's hilarious to watch her

Re: Hermit Crab naked and digging
First and foremost you need to get him in a shell. He will not survive long without one. Gently uncurl his abdomen and place him in a proper fitting shell. When you have the time, please asnwer this so we can better help you to understand why this happend: http://www.hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB/...

Re: A Bit Worried
They should be fine as long as you have correct substrate depth and are not overcrowding. What is your tank size, how many hermit crabs are housed in there, and what depth is the the substrate?

Re: Moving Hermit Crabs
I would definitely put them in the car. I would not trust them with my crabs.

@Brthome85, The easiest thing to do will be to just let her answer the questions, instead of bombarding her with single questions from everybody

Re: Too hot?
Since I have exotics, I keep the tank 80-83 and then let the tank drop down to 75-78 during the night. When I use to have all PP's I found that mine were most active at the 85 degree level. My straws were most active at the 80 degree level, and my blues were most active at the 85 degree level.

Re: Missing Hermit Crab without Possibility of Escape
Finding hollow exoskeleton is normal for me. Many of my hermit crabs have spiky shells, hence bits and even whole legs getting stuck in there shells.

Re: Missing Hermit Crab without Possibility of Escape
When you first get them, most hermit crabs will bury down for a few weeks to destress.

Argh. I thought it did. I've switched over to a new saltwater conditioner which does contain a dechlorinator.

Re: Shell bully- repeat offender
This may be wrong, but this could actually be a space inssue. The minimum tank size is 10 gallons, and even in that you wouldn't be able to go bigger than 2 small mediums. The
