Re: Starfish
Starfish are often preserved in alcohol. I'd refrain from using it. But can't you get natural starfish? Like from a hermie food shop... You can get sand dollars and sea urchins. Edit: I was the one who suggested starfish in their other post for extra calcium source. It's on the safe food list if it...

Re: This monster....
Unfortunately no... You need multiple sources amd a good variety so they don't get tired of the same thing offered over and over again. Protein examples: nuts (peanuts, pecan, almonds, walnuts, etc...), Mealworms, Bloodworms, crickets, grasshoppers, shrimp/krill, lobster, etc.. Calcium examples: egg...

Re: Vertical or Horizontal?
Both are important! Horizontal space is beneficial for molting and vertical space is used for climbing/exercise. If you're worried about space, try secend levels such as baskets or shower caddies for shell shops, moss pits, and such... For exersice, I highly recommend a modified hamster wheel. Sent ...

Re: Large Tank Build from Scratch
I was told off a few years back for the hamster wheel and ball lol so i avoid them now. Nothing wrong with a hamster wheel if it's the proper one and modified correctly. Most everyone here highly recommends them! Here's a few shots of mine... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171118/d188fdc1028d60...

Re: tank decor
In my store, they're found in the floral section by the vines and such. They're not kept with the flowers. Hope that makes sense!Fanatic wrote:Where in the store do you find those plants? I am looking for plants like those, might just need some!

Re: Photo shoot!
Daws, have you ever been pinched by anyone recently? If not recently, have you been while they were large? Fanatic I've been crabbing for almost 7 yrs and so far I haven't been pinched by any of them (knock on wood lol). Keep in mind I've only had these bigger/jumbo guys since late March early Apri...

Re: Second Floors?
Cardboard will disintegrate and eventually fall apart with high humidity... What are you using/needing the second level for?? You can use shower caddies (all shapes and sizes), seagrass baskets, or even InterDesign drawers (similar to drawers for fridge). Some have even used desk organizers. Sent fr...

Re: Is this coloring normal?
They need at least a 40 Breeder tank, 10 gallons per crab as far as space goes, tons of substrate (10 inch the bare minimum regardless of size), and also lots and lots of protein... Most are active day & night, they are extremely fast, and unlike PP's, they don't like to be overcrowded. These guys a...
