Re: Château Creb: ninety gallons of anomuran madness
Thanks for the update!! You could make a 'sheet' curtain out of fabric to cover it and use Velcro to secure it to the frame. You could also buy curtains and use a tension rod to secure it depending how big of gap you have between the 2x4's. This is a piece of fabric secured with velcro (wish I had b...

Re: Too long a molt?
@crabmater If your sub is as deep as it should be (6 in or 3x your largest crab... Whichever is deeper) and the crab is buried, you wouldn't smell a death smell. The sub kinda masks (hides) it. Re: Double-dish bubbler pics, yo!
Im trying to use MINIMAL outlets. Ill try it without first. Do the crabbies like the bubbles? My crabbies love the bubblers. For some, it takes a while to get used to. I use a grounded 6 way outlet see pic... My night switch has a rheostat plugged in. The other end of my rheostat has two outlets th...

Re: New threads
Not necessarily! Some crabs like their shells small/snug while others like them huge/roomy. Then there's some that just like to change their clothes everyday. Each crab is different!! As long as you have 3-5 shells per crab (more is better) and they range in sizes - next size up, they should be okay...

Copy and paste everything back here so it stays together.
You have newbies. More than likely they are just de-stressing and not actually molting.

Re: EMERGENCY TEMPLATE COMPLETE!!
Just wanted to add that I too think heat/humidity are too low! What kind of guages do you have? Have they been calibrated? Analog gauges tend to get wonky over time. Digital gauges are far more accurate. You can get an AccuRite set at Wal-Mart or any hardware store for under $10. They're usually kep...

Re: Can i have a tiny hermit crab with a huge one?
There are far too many that need to be adopted. I would try looking around this site for some to adopt. You can try looking in your area or by posting an adoptee (wanted) ad. You could also try searching on Craigslist... I highly encourage adopting vs purchasing. This reduces the risk of PPS - Post ...

Re: Can i have a tiny hermit crab with a huge one?
I have jumbos's (softball size) mixed with marble sized crabs. They get along great. In fact the little ones have learned to just move out of the way since the jumbo's kinda trample them cause they are so big.... As long as a you have a proper setup and they get fed a well balanced diet, all will be...

Re: Question about molting
After a molt they'll be super hairy and have sharp toe nails. If you look closely they'll even have eye lashes! Like GB said, NEVER dig! They can be buried for 6+ months. Flooding or having to move the tank to a mew location (collapse tunnels) is about the only time you'd have to dig. Sent from my V...

Re: Humidity
Another thought... How deep are your pools? Have you tried adding bubblers to them? Alot of people use doubled up Tupperware with ramps or stones for exits and bubblers for increasing humidity. Re: Humidity
A few things come to mind: - Lights tend to zap humidity. Could you get/use an ultratherm heater instead? I would try to get an ultratherm from http://www.reptilebasics.com or http://www.beanfarm.com You'll want the biggest that will fit along the back and ABOVE the sub. - Have you calibrated your g...
