exciting! I like to mess around in the tank in the afternoons or early evenings before they get active. He'll be ok for a few hours without food. I have one that is a climber rather than a digger so he's always out on the cholla during the day. When I put in food I can tell he smells it cuz he comes...

Could the bubblers be causing too much water movement such that it's hard to grip?
I use a relatively small container for water. They can "just" be all the way submerged and can climb out unassisted although I do have something they can hold on to to use to climb out just in case.

hahaha, that is funny. I think sometimes they just like to try things on that they've never tried on before to give it a test drive before they decide what they like or not
