Re: My beautiful Rusty.

I love it when hermies are holding on the branches and things - they look like they're snuggling the branch! :cloud9:

Rusty is such a cutie! <3

I couldn't find him this morning though :( However - being the size of a small grape, I'm not surprised. In other news, Thomas changed shells into ...

Little Lonely E :(

I was a bad crab momma today :( I found an exotic pet store near me and decided to swing by and see if they had any non-sticky UTHs - they didn't, but they did have hermies, so of course I had to take a look. pretty standard pet store, sadly - my hopes were high for an "exotics" store. 5 gallon or s...

Re: Thoughts on Vitamin D

Not to necro a super old thread, but I'm curious - since this post - how are people managing Vitamin D? I never did until I got a leopard gecko years ago and started to cross share her food with them (worms/crickets she didn't eat) Since my gecko is now passed, I've still been using her calcium supp...

Re: Do hermit crabs ever go dormant?

They don't exactly hibernate, but they can hermit :hlol: Some of my crabs I swear never come out of their shells, but every once in a blue moon, I'll catch them out and about. Or I'll go a day not seeing any activity in the tank but wake up to burrows all over and a messy food bowl. You can probably...

will a 23in long Ultra Therm work for a 20L AND a 40B

I'm planning to order my ultratherm soon and finally get rid of the sticky UTH I have. However, I plan to upgrade to a 40B in february-ish so I'd like to try and get something that would work for both. I'm looking at the 6X23 or should I get the 6X36? which would overhang on my 20 but work for the 40.

Re: Dropped Limb?

I agree with CallaLily :) Sounds like a molt is on the way, and with the need to regenerate a limb, it's going to be a little more intense for the crab than your "everyday" molt. Now would be the time to make sure that your tank is in optimal condition and start offering things like cuttlebone or le...

Re: Rescued crabbies from outside, never owned one before!

a temporary solution could also be a heated blanket or heat pad if you have one of those. Just don't leave it on if you leave the house and check it regularly to make sure it's not overheating. In the past, I've also frequently exchanged their pool water with warm water (multiple times a day) and he...

Re: Fluker's Groovy Jacuzzi pools are 50% at petsmart!

I havent had a nice big super deep easy entry pool with a textured bottom before, so I wonder if they're using it more because its easy to get get into and out of and a bit deeper? ETA woke up this afternoon (had to do some work in the wee hours of the morning so I get a half day in the office - woo...

Re: Fluker's Groovy Jacuzzi pools are 50% at petsmart!

So its been in my sink for about 4 hours. No leaking yet! Still full to the brim! (Its sitting in a rubbermaid with some moss in it to hold it upright) There was probably a quarter cup or so of ee that I scooped out. Im guessingit was just a combo of some late night baths and shell refills with the ...

Re: Animal Crossing: New Leaf

*hides my two copies* :| I haven't played much in the recent months. I used to be insane about it. Involved in the online communities - selling, trading, stalk market, adopting in and out, but not for a long while. I found myself getting tired of my towns after a few months and often resetting them....
