Re: Instant Ocean not dissolving

The salt is still soft. Some small bits have hardened but it isn't too concerning..Maybe those bits are what's not dissolving at the bottom? I keep the salt sealed well and I store it in a cool dry spot, so I'm not sure how moisture got in.

Instant Ocean not dissolving

Hi! So I've noticed lately that there's been a small quantity of salt at the bottom of the jug I prepare my water in. I make one gallon at a time. I treat the water first with conditioner, then add the correct amount of salt as stated in the instructions of the instant ocean box (1/2 cup). The major...

Re: Just want to make sure I did the right thing here...

Sounds like your doing similar to what I would do, so I can't say that you're doing it wrong. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Okay that's reassuring! I just don't want to do something that could be detrimental. Hopefully she's able to carry out a successful molt where she is. Thank you JJ! Sen...

Just want to make sure I did the right thing here...

So one of my crabs Tai is assumed to be molting at the moment. Well, upon coming home today I noticed that there was a hole in the sub, big enough to where I could see Tai's shell. The hole is directly under where I keep the grapewood. Kai has been away sleeping so I'm not sure how the top part of t...

Re: chia sprouts and cuttlebones?

Hey yall! So, i've been sprinkling a lot of chia seeds in the tank. I love the look of a chia garden and i want to create one in my tank. Only issue is that they aren't sprouting like the pictures! A few do, some are eaten, and the rest just get moldy. Any suggestions?? also, how long do yall leave...

I constantly have so many molters, that I have completely lost track and stopped csring much at all.
I only have my two crabs, which makes it easier [emoji16] I'm still trying to decide if I want to expand the group though!

Another successful molt!

Kai is back from her molt! She's so much bigger and now has slightly different colors. She used to be a lighter shade of purple all over, like lavender, with a hint of blue where her leg segments met the rest of her body. Now she's a darker shade of lavender and purple, the blue is brighter, and she...

Re: How does the shell shop work?

I love these ideas! I ended up grabbing a small basket at dollar tree (2 for a dollar!!) And wrapped it in the burlap I had laying around. (I originally bought the burlap for a background but since it would block heat I'm using something else so I gotta find a use for the 8 feet of burlap I bought ...

Re: How does the shell shop work?

So, I've noticed that the easiest way to keep plenty of shells in the tank is basically a bowl or shower caddy. But my question is, how do the crabs choose? Do they just go for the top shells? Or do they actually dig in around the bowl to find the shell they need? Right now I have shells scattered ...

Re: Made my own net!!!

Wow your net looks awesome! Much better than my quadrilateral, haha!! I hung mine against the very back wall, but you can hang it on the sides or against corners if you wanted to. I don't think the holes are too large. Mine are about the same size (maybe smaller) and my crabs are able to crawl up an...
