Re: Tank Build Diary

Looks great! How deep is your substrate? It's hard to tell from the pictures. Right now theres no sub bc the tank isn't set up yet! Its gonna be done tomorrow, I just set them up in some temporary digs overnight since the crabitat at the old house has been broken down. Theres currently paper towel ...

Re: Tank Build Diary

So the gang has been upgraded from a crabby motel to a crabby presidential suite! This should hold everyone in relative comfort overnight. Put the newbies in, everyone seems to be getting along so far, they've already changed shells like 5 times now lol. Man it feels good to see them in this tank! E...

Re: Tank Build Diary

Ok so naturally this is taking me longer than I hoped it would and I really want to take the time to do this right. I've made 2 panels so far, just have to attach the platform(s?) to them and then I think I'm going to call it a night. I realized I have some basic supplies here (heat mat, food, fresh...

Re: Best vacation ever!!

With most of the new crabs we get they all pretty much dig and molt the second their claws hit the substrate. Most usually skip meals and water and just dig. I think maybe keep them in this container overnight and give them food that are beneficial for molting. A good meal before placing them in th...

Re: Annoying fractions when buying shells

Same. I sometimes wish they’d just use decimals if they’re gonna go crazy with the fractions like that. Annoying fractions when buying shells

I'm on Richard's seashells website and I have to say, the fractions he's giving for opening size are ridiculous! So far my orders have consisted of: 13/16", 47/64", 29/32"... I've been sitting here for 20 minutes just rounding and reducing fractions to try to figure out whether these things are appr...

Re: Best vacation ever!!

You're welcome! Don't worry, it will all be over soon and your crabbies will be living it up in their new digs. I'd love to see the new tat when you're all finished! Good luck with it all! Re: Best vacation ever!!

That's exactly what my rescues did last week. The small one dug down right away. The bigger one wandered around for a few hours, ate, and went under. I haven't seen either one of them since. So the temporary crabby motel might be a good idea until you move. [emoji39] Ps-Congrats!!! [emoji4] Sent fr...

Re: Best vacation ever!!

Do you have an iso tank set up? I'm sure at this point in your crabbing experience, you know how to have the heat, humidity, foods, etc under control! You got this! Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk No, I've never done that with any of my crabs! If I had a crab emergency I could throw something t...

Re: Best vacation ever!!

I could actually use some advice. As you may know by now, my BF and I are in the process of moving into our new house and I was planning on setting up the new crabitat tomorrow. My typical inclination is to release these guys into my tat asap since they have been through alot, including your typical...

Wow, the colors really pop. It's beautiful!!!!! [emoji7][emoji7] Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Thanks! I have a vintage yellow formica table that will go in that room as well.
