Re: Our first ponds.
Yeah I've seen those discs. Since my tank is tall, floor space is at a bit of a premium for me. Man your tat looks great! Did you crochet that shelf yourself? Also, what are the supports hooked up to? Suction cups? You know what, I bought that. I think they called it a reptile ledge. I forget the b...

Re: Our first ponds.
Did you add the craft mesh to the wheel or leave it as is? Sometime soon I'm gonna do that mod since while I have seen them use it once it doesn't seem to be that popular and I'm thinking they might like it more if they could grip it better Yes. I added the craft mesh. I made it quite a bit wider w...

Re: A humane method for crab euthanasia :(
Thank you for the kind words <3 It does help to think about it like that. You helped me more than you know. I'm dealing with aggression in my tank. The aggressor backs down now, when face to face, but comes from behind when given the opportunity. I let her visit in the big tank every day, and every...

Well, I'll keep an eye out for ya. You could put cameras up in your tank, with an app that I could see your screen, and I could "baby sit" while you're away. Ha ha ha Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk YAY!!!! Yesterday I discovered poopie in their new wheel, last night Dorothy was walking in it!!!...

Re: Our first ponds.
I read something here once about someone trying to hook up a pedometer to their wheel to see if and how much the crabs were using it. Idk if the project ever became a reality but it's a great idea! Annnd someone else recently hooked up IR motion sensor cameras to see what their straws were really u...

Day Twenty, Attempt#2: There are only four survivors tonight. Not sure what is going wrong. They have good color, they're much larger now, and they have easily seen gut tracks. I just don't know how to figure out what is changing in terms of their needs. Is it a nutritional deficiency? A water qual...

Re: Succulents in my tank
I love succulents! There is so much misinformation on the internet about them! They love light - just not direct sun!!!! The secret to them is making sure they have the right amount of water to the light they receive. I have a lot of succulents here at my house. I water and fertilize mine once a we...

Re: Artemis, Day 14 carrying eggs
Day Nineteen, Attempt #2 Weird day. 1-The one megalopa was dead this morning. 2-I found a lone survivor in the hexagonal 1-gallon tank that I haven't touched or changed the water in or added food to for a week. I caught it just before it got sucked up in the filter. It has a completely straig...

Hi ladyjinglyjones. These guys were not that crazy about it either, I bet it's gonna make delicious kale chips though.LadyJinglyJones wrote:I've offered it to mine. A couple seemed to like it, though the response wasn't overwhelming.

I used some dried hay matts but only didn't have issues with mold if i sprayed it with sw daily or soaked and dried it once a week or every other. Second i forgot i had mold. I used jute cord to wrapp my soap dishes and have been treating them similar. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171013/aa00...

Re: Project: Under the Dome! (115gal acrylic tank)
Wow! What a project! Looks great! I agree with AussieJJDude about adding more hiding spaces - especially going up the tank. You can get great looking long vines/ferns from craft stores - Those would look great in your tank. Humidity: 80 is the minimum for humidity - you can go higher. I keep my hum...

Re: Scrundles & Spikes
my crabs came up from their first molts with me a couple weeks ago and have been so much more active than they were before! I see them at least once a day now, and yesterday I got to see them both out at once, chowing down on some scallops. it's hard to get stuff done at home when all I want to do ...

I hace found over the years that crabs of the same size have more problems then crabs of different sizes.... probably sue to not completing (much) for the same resources.
