Re: They love poop

What is the purpose of it? Is it nutritional or a natural behavior because they are prey? How did think to start doing this? Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk Well worm castings is on the food pyramid I think. Which is poop. I've ordered powdered guinea pig poop with other hermit crab food. Some...

Re: Rescuing A Crab Too Big for It's Shell

Today I rescued a crab from a pet store who I named Cocoa. Now I'm going back to rescue another who can barely fit into its shell. What I want to know is, how should I proceed when taking it home? Should I isolate it or put it into the tank with the other crabs? What is the best way to make sure it...

They love poop

I get fresh tortoise poop from a friend. These guys absolutely love rubbing it on their shells. And watch as the big guy is pushing the poop underneath him, the guy behind him it taking it, saying, hey thanks. https://youtu.be/8Swv2wTpsBY And the 2nd one, the big guy in back is still rubbing his she...

You can add an inch every 24hrs, just don't pat it down. But you can't really pull out buried decor.

Re: New babies

That super light and little shell on on your hand looks exactly like what the shell bashful had. I miss bashful.. I was buying cat treats and small animal treats yesterday to feed to them and the cashier at the Petsmart told me they had two crabs left in stock. I was told they were sold out till Ju...

Re: Double up a heater

I would not, but I don't know if there is an 'official' recommendation from the manufacturer or if that's just me. I would measure the temp at the sub level where the heater is, as well as a few other locations in the tank. If the temp is fine, I would leave it. If not, I would just move it a bit l...

Double up a heater

I purchased an ultratherm a while back for the 75gal I was going to set up. I guess I thought I was going to put in higher substrate. It's about 11inches. But there's space below the heater that has no substrate. It's just air. I have the heater from the 40 gallon I dismantled. But it's too big to f...
