Dead Crab? (Probably Not)

I am currently on vacation and I am viewing my Wyze Cam. One of my crabs have turned around and in the same spot for a day and a half. I am kind of paranoid. It’s not like I would be able to do anything, but is it likely that he passed?

Re: Leaving for a Week and a Half

I don't think the water bowls would evaporate fully, because I left once before for 10 days and this did not happen. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Re: Leaving for a Week and a Half

I will also add a moss pit for humidity during the time I am away.

Re: Leaving for a Week and a Half

So I will be removing some of the climbing items so I can see the crabs better with my Wyze Cams. I will have 2 food bowls and 3 water pools, 2 with freshwater. I will have extra bowls and pools just in case the crabs dig and they get substrate in the bowls or pools, contaminating it. Any suggestion...

Hello :) Part of your issue would be that the most of the shells you have aren't the right kind of shells. Here is the shell guide :)

I was waiting for someone to mention the shell choice lol

Re: My DIY Crabitat

Beautiful setup! I would recommend having some of the cholla wood stand up for them to climb.

Re: What's on today's menu & recipe sharing

Shredded carrots
Dry Polenta
Crushed puffed rice
Chia seeds
It should come out in a mushed form if you try this. My crabs have been eating it overnight!

Re: Leaving for a Week and a Half

Thanks for the responses. Would the ammonia levels be an issue since the water will become old?

You can't put the millipede with the hermits
I’m almost sure that they meant that they wanted to own black train millipedes because they need similar requirements to hermit crabs. This would make them easier to keep because the OP’er has background information.

Could one of the crabs that passed been an exoskeleton? What if the crab you found in the drawer was the real her and the one in the soil is just an exo. Just a guess. Or that but switched around
That could definitely be a possibility. I never thought about that.
