Re: Heating in winter
I think it's working. The trick is covering the lid, over the plexiglass, with reflectix. I don't know why I did not think of an idea that just came in my mind. So my lid does not have plexiglass, it is a mesh lid with Reflectix on it. You can see where it goes wrong because the air can leave out o...

Re: Heating in winter
I thought I finally got my heat/humidity settled. Then the cold weather hit. I have a 40gal tank. A large zilla heat mat on the back, which doesn't cover the whole back, and also a small zilla heat mat along the back. I had that one from when they were in a 10 gal. And the space between with tinfoi...

i got my moss and successfully got it in the tank with the shower caddy, but it doesn’t give out humidity. I used somewhat cold water, is that the prone problem?

Re: Starfish
Oh, this probably doesn't matter, but I have it more of a climb toy (don't worry, I have a LOT more) than a food source, but they probably would anyway.

Molting Issues?
So I had a molt where a crab went down to molt, then within a week, all of the crabs were down. I know she wouldn't be digging by now, for its been more than a month later, and I still hear a crab constantly digging. I fear that he could have found the molter's cave with all of the digging. I have a...

Re: Starfish
What did it taste like? If u want some ocean-y decor in your tank id suggest unbleached corals or sea urchin. They look neat and Crabs can eat them. they are a great calcium source :) LOL it tasted like what cuttlebone tasted like, but less fishy (yes, I tasted cuttlebone too to see if it was...

Re: Tank Temerature and Humidity
I have the right Reflectix from your description. Now, I know that the UTH would be too small now, for it was back when I had my 10 gallon. The ZooMeds weren't even the ones working when it would go like 1 degree F above the norm. I have a sinking feeling that it was more of an air leak. Because the...

So, I got this starfish at a beach shop, and I licked it because I'm weird and nothing happened. Is it safe to put in the tank?

Renroc, I can't believe how successful you have been with these babies! Soon not be babies any more! I was reading the entire process as you were posting messages about their growth, just never signed up back then.
