Re: Crabs aren’t very active

When my crabs came up from their molt, I noticed they would be a lot more active :)

Re: Share your crab stories!

I have a story! So I have 3 crabs in a 20L and one of my crabs (lets call him crab #1) he is big and the dominant crab, and I have crab #2 (she likes picking on crab #3 but is scared of crab #1) and crab #3 (who is the smallest, and very fast). So, crab 3 was sitting in a corner near the moss pit, a...

Re: Tank Temerature and Humidity

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't clarify. I got the humidity up with the moss and the way you recommended it to be. I will try the towel idea. Thanks!

Re: Tank Temerature and Humidity

I got the humidity up, but I am more concerned with the heat than the humidity.

Re: Tank Temerature and Humidity

So I have put in some Mosser Lee Sphagnum moss before, but when ever I put it in, t would mold. So how much would I make it damp? And, how would I calibrate the gauges? Thanks for all of the help guys!

Re: Is crabgrass in crabitat okay?

I don't know how that would turn out. I apparently though get stalks of lettuce and let it grow in my crabitat, since it is touching a relatively damp substrate, which acts like it is dirt being watered. I would need an older crab owner for the answer.

Re: Tank Temerature and Humidity

Oh, and I also forgot, I am a first-time crab owner. I started out NOT GOOD at all with some little 5 gallon with two of the four crabs I have today. Then I got a 10 gallon, but I didn't put enough substrate. They were so much happier in that, and I got another crab. They all survived one molt (one ...

Re: Tank Temerature and Humidity

My Gauges are located around the tank, two on the ground and one velcrowed to the top. The crabs cannot reach it. My substrate is Coco Fiber mixed with some Quickrite play sand. It isn't exact 5:1 but when they all come up, I will try my best to make it that.

Re: Tank Temerature and Humidity

I am pretty sure it is not the winter because the room temperature stays the same year-round. I have reflectix on 3 walls of the tank except the one wall where I can see them. I have tried and used THREE heat pads (2 ZoMeds and 1 Ultratherm) on my 10 gallon back then and it only raised like 1 degree...

Tank Temerature and Humidity

So I am new to this forum, but I had all of my crabs for more than a year with molts. I had a heat issue where I would wake up to the temperature being 73 in the tank (I know, I know...) and I got a 20" Aqueon Incandescent with two 25watt bulbs for my 20L and it worked perfectly! I would constant be...
