Re: Crabitat 2.0 (from a 20 gal to a 50 gal)

This looks amazing! Congratulations on the upgrade! I'm sure the crabs are going to love it. [emoji4] I really like the skull idea I've seen in a few tats, although I'd be too afraid to put one in my own, haha. Imagining just seeing hollow sockets staring at me in the middle of the night... 5 PPs: K...

Re: Too Crowded?

This is the HCA guide for crab and tank sizes....how does it compare to what you have now? http://www.hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=92541 Ah, My guys are fine for a while then, thank you! I checked multiple sources and my "large" crabs are actually just medium. All I have to ...

Too Crowded?

My crab Ozark has come up from another molt and he is HUGE. For comparison, here he is next to Siam. (I felt awful turning them over for the picture, but it was a split second [emoji24]) He now is wearing a 1" shell and Siam is in a 1/2" shell. I measured him during the regular inspection. (Time to ...

Abdomen Curling and Claw Placement

I read somewhere that the type of shell options a crab is given may change the way its abdomen curls and which side its big claw is on. Is this harmful for the crabs at all? Who experimented and found this out, if it's even true?

Re: Strange, Scary Behavior?

If he is behaving fine afterwards, I would just keep an eye on him and say its 'crabs being crabs'... sometimes they just do weird things and enjoy scaring us! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk He's still alright, even today. He flicked Siam off the rock leading to the wheel today, so he's defin...

Strange, Scary Behavior?

My crab Ozark came back up and did something really odd today. He pulled a gold mouth turbo shell into the fw pool and climbed out of his original gold mouth shell, changing in the pool after being out of his shell for a bit. I have never seen anything like this. He isn't showing any other weird beh...

Thanks! [emoji4] Still waiting for 2 more cute crabs, Koa and Ozark. We now have Siam up as well. But more than likely, when a crab comes up, another crab that was up for a while goes right back down.

Re: Best large/jumbo shell seller?

My crabs aren't jumbo yet, but I'm sure that if you search Amazon for jumbo turbo shells, you'll find some. Now, they probably won't come in bulk like the smaller shells do, but I've seen them come with more than one.

Oh, Hello!

Moja and Chella are up! [emoji4] Moja(Larger crab, Picture 1) sat still for a few seconds and let me take the picture, while Chella(Smaller, last few pictures) was on the move when I approached. You can see him running in the pictures, LOL! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190113/acea04ecfee872716...

Unfortunately, everyone is never up at once. :(
This is why it makes it difficult for me to adjust or move anything around. I can wait and see if everyone will come up though for sure

Two Questions

I have an untreated weaved wooden stand in the tat that I originally had my shell shop propped up on, but of course because it wasn't treated with anything, it gave in to the humidity and isn't strong anymore. I want to remove it, but it's planted in the sub like a tree. I also currently have crabs ...
