Re: My crab has scratchy black spots on it.

I pm'd her last night. will fish antibiotics, turtle fix or reptile skin spray also work for the crab? I saw other people mention that. If not, do people online with hermit crabs sell these things?

Re: My crab has scratchy black spots on it.

I am able to view this picture. It looks like shell rot to me. If so, it is contagious. Please PM Wodesorel and ask for her to view this post to get her opinion as well. If so, you need to do the medicinal bath that is recommended. Do I have to do a deep clean on the tank? Do I also need to disinfe...

Re: Pansy stems

They're safe, it's just that people usually view stems as trash. anything that is in the leaves has gone through the stem. You could even feed them the roots if you wanted to. It's not poisonous

Re: Adopted hermit crabs with missing limbs

Crabs can eat with both claws. If one is weak I would just isolate the weak one. Sometimes crabs lose limbs when they're molting, and that can be from either stress, fights, poor tank conditions, or mites.

I can't post images until the hurricane stops messing up the wifi, and it's going to be a google photos link because I'm not going go through [insert large description here] just to post images when every single other website with image sharing lets you do it so easily

Re: Back for more advice

I also own Halloween crabs. They're my favorite and the most exotic crab. Does it have fresh water too? (either completely natural spring water or purified water) It's a little unfortunate if your parents make you keep them somewhere where there's a lot of noise or activity. They're more of a room p...

All crabs are nocturnal, but some individuals might be awake during the day for any given reason.

Re: ANTS EVERYWHERE NEED A HOME (ARKANSAS)

Move the crabs anywhere just please get them out of there, even if they're going to be spending some time in just a plastic box with nothing in it. They will kill your crabs. You're just going to have to deep clean that tank and try placing it somewhere else where you haven't seen ants.

Re: Moving while molting?

About needing to move when a crab might be molting, I don't really know what to tell you. I would just drive carefully and make sure the tank can't move too much. I would just check if he doesn't come up in a week and a half, and if he is molting it's no big deal. You could isolate him and put him s...
