Re: Does anyone know how to add a second floor inside the tank?
I used light diffusers from Lowe's on the rear wall and to make a second floor. I zip tied the wheel onto the rear wall so the base was above the wheel. Then cut a narrow ledge as wide as the wheels base and made it extend out for a second level. I secured it all with zip ties. On the other side of...

Re: My crab keeps getting naked, running around and then going into a new shell
1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? I have coconut fiber even though I need to get all purpose sand too, I just couldn’t afford it after getting the coconut dirt. It’s 2 inches deep the biggest crab is a medium 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature a...

Re: My crab keeps getting naked, running around and then going into a new shell

My crab keeps getting naked, running around and then going into a new shell
So my crab had shed about a week ago so I quarantined him with his skin since he was weak and put him back after his exoskeleton was mostly back. A day or two later he was naked and trying to retreat to a hideout he was comfortable in so I caught and quarantined him again with the shell he left alon...

Does anyone know how to add a second floor inside the tank?
I want to add an entire second floor inside the tank with an opening for a net or stairs with a railing so hermits can get up. Does anyone know what this would be called or if it exists?

What's harmful to giant African millipedes?
I want to get a black train millipede very soon since they require a similar setup to hermit crabs. Does anyone know what consumables/items can hurt them?

Re: I accidentally brought a foreign creature home!
I needed the salt for my hermit crabs anyway because I was out, but she made me wait until the next day and I knew it would be too late by then but she just couldn’t listen to a word I had to say, could she? Nope, because she obviously doesn’t give two craps about a living creature and now I have to...

Re: I accidentally brought a foreign creature home!
My grandma wouldn’t let me get the salt water I needed and as a result, I’ve been carrying the haunting weight of their death for a week now. I really tried my best by putting them in spring water even though I knew they would probably die and now I have to feel terrible for something that could’ve ...

Re: I accidentally brought a foreign creature home!
It looks like one of the big isopods you see underwater. It’s small and white and I found it in a shell under the water. This is in Florida and I only see results for the huge isopods

Does the thing look like this? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190525/03827cf64096a89c95a76e0fd778f52a.jpg Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk That is a different color and has different markings but it looks slightly similar. I’m having an insanely hard time finding anything on google that look...

I don’t think my parents would let me get that. I’m not quite ready to tell them why I would need the app anyway, and that I have this creature. Do u think there could be another way?Cococrabgirl! wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2019 3:10 pmTo post pictures you need the Tapatalk app.

I accidentally brought a foreign creature home!
I was on a small beach in a wildlife area and took a small shell, not realizing there’s what looks like a pill bug with fins on the back of it. There’s two small ones that have no fins. Now I have them in a small glass bowl with the shell and don’t know what to do since I won’t be going back for a l...

Re: Websites that humanely ship hermit crabs?
Are Carribean's the same as PP's?? If so, why would you want anything else?? LOL!! How big of a tank do you have? I have a 50 gallon tank. I like Caribbeans and I care more about the actual crab than what it looks like, I just doubt I’ll ever find a different type as long as I’m in Florida and I li...
