Yes, buying from pet stores always has a high risk of the crabs not making it because of how much stress they're put through. It's definitely not recommended to buy from stores and aside from checking here on HCA for adoptions a lot of people have gotten their crabs from Craigslist or other similar ...

Bubblers help a lot! They've been a crabby life saver in my case, you just have to be careful of flooding.
