Re: What is your crabs favorite food?

Mine love the chicken bones that are pulled out of, and cooked, from unseasoned chicken. (I do dehydrate the bones and smash them into powder using a meat mallot lol) also "all living things" vegetable mix, egg shells, dehydrated coconut shavings, chia seeds, brine shrip eggs, dried oat meal, and un...

Re: Hermit crab lost a leg while underground

No problem! That's great to hear about the eggshell, that'll help your little guy to prepare to grow a healthy exo as well as your other crabs.

Re: Hermit crab lost a leg while underground

Not for now. Everything you have filled out above is perfect. I would recommend adding calcium to their diet. Egg shells would be the easiest way. Other than that leave your crab alone and let him do what he needs to do. Taking the size of your crabs and your sub debth into consideration, means your...

Re: Hermit crab lost a leg while underground

Aww poor baby. Well there is such a thing as "post purchase syndrome" when crabs are stressed they're known to lose limbs. Even if your crabitat is perfect sometimes the move is all it takes for them to be overstressed. This doesn't mean he's bound to pass away though, hopefully he'll molt soon and ...

Re: Molting with out extra shells???

1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? Mix of play sand and ee It should be atleast 6 in deep or 3x the size of your crab 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually...

Is saltwater or feshwater used more?

Just out of curiosity is saltwater or dechlorinated feshwater used more by your crabs? What is more important for their molting and/or health? Of course both need to be readily available for them to drink and bathe but which of the two seems to be preferred?

Re: ANTS EVERYWHERE NEED A HOME (ARKANSAS)

Also cake Vaseline on every entrance of ants you find! Smear it on everything! I have my tank lid and base covered in it, ever since I found ants in my home. You can sort of see it in my pic. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190902/56e243509b9e757663a650af4f0cb6b4.jpg Sent from my LG-SP320 using T...

Re: ANTS EVERYWHERE NEED A HOME (ARKANSAS)

Throw everything away in your tank, clean the tank with vinegar, and bathe your crabs in dechlorinated water to make sure their ant free. They'll need to be kept in a temp home so you can monitor for any more ants. Wherever the ants are coming into your home needs to be sprayed with bleach and I hav...
