Re: Heat lamp on top of plexiglass?

That doesn't sound safe to me. I don't think a heat lamp should be sitting on anything other than maybe a screen. UTH would be a better idea, then you could seal the top all the way.

Re: Wyze Cam

The Wyze Cam I had stopped working after a couple of months. I have no idea if it was because of the heat/humidity of the tank. I know the company is making one for the outdoors. The cameras I now use are the 360 Home Security Camera. Which actually I think are easier to position. Do you have that ...

Wyze Cam

Has anyone had problems with wyze cam getting too hot in the tank or humidity bothering it? I just got one & put it in last night. Today while feeding I noticed it feels pretty hot, obviously, it's in an 80° humid environment, lol. Just wondering if there is maybe a way to put it outside or if the c...

Re: Substrate

How big is your tank? Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk Right now it is 18x18x18 terrarium (25gallon) will be upgrading to 36x18x24 (55gallon). I'm hoping to use the sub I already have but also would like the tank completely set up before the hermies move so I may need to start from scratch...

Re: Substrate

I know it's by volume. Bascially you have a container of some sort, 5 scoops of sand and 1 scoop of EE. As for the amount, I'm pretty horrible at that and just judge by eye... I know the mixing ratio for sand : coco fiber is 5:1 but I'm still a little confused. Is that by weight or volume? I was looking at the bricks of eco earth & it says they expand to 8 times their size. So do I go by that measurement or weight before expansion? I am doubling the size of my tat. Right ...

Oh good! I'm sure that will help with humidity I really don't want to have to get a humidifier & risk flooding. It's really dry here in winter.

Humidity

So I'm planning an upgrade to a 50 gallon terrarium. I will need to cover the screen top but I'm wondering should I leave a small gap for air flow or seal it up completely. Right now I have a smaller terrarium with gap for air flow but I seem to lose quite a bit of humidity even though it's a small ...

Re: Heat

Thanks guys. I found an ultratherm from the bean farm that's 35x11. Hopefully that will be enough, I like to keep my house pretty cool.
