Species?
I'm not sure what type of hermit crabs these are. I think purple pincher but one is much darker that the others. What do u guys think? Do u think they are all the same? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190603/a6af6da199e45f141d78f1c28e9e4685.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190603/9619e80f1f...

Re: Second floor compilation
OIC. I was thinking about the cocofiber over the egg crate. That would probably cause heating issues like that. Thanks for the reply [emoji846]

Re: Second floor compilation
Do u have a UTH on the back of your tat & if so does the egg crate affect heating? I love the idea but I'm struggling to maintain heat already. I've decided I'm going to have to add another UTH I'm just afraid it will be to hot then.

Poor little guy came to us in a painted long skinny shell (not sure what it is called). He/she was very happy to change into this shiny new shell ASAP

Re: Substrate depth & moss pit
Thanks! I was afraid I wouldn't mix the play sand correctly but when it's time for clean sand I will try that way. I thought it would be deep enough when we got the terrarium but ran out of sand & didn't want to make the poor little guys stay in the plastic container of pebbles they came home from s...

Substrate depth & moss pit
New Hermie mom. I need to add more substrate but one of my hermies is buried and has been for a few weeks so I think he is molting. Another has a pretty cool cave dug and I don't want to mess it up. Is it safe to add more while they are under? Using Fluker's Hermit Beach. In some places it's 4-5 inc...

Re: New Hermie Mom, would love advice
Thanks for the quick reply! They're not huge. Kinda hard to describe their size. The shells they chose were the ones with 5/8 openings. I can see some of their tunnels so I guess that means it's good. I didn't know they wouldn't need to be separated if the substrate was deep enough. I was afraid the...

New Hermie Mom, would love advice
:hi:: So my daughter brought 2 hermit crabs home from school & I didn't realize how much I would like them! She's pretty much lost interest but I've been doing a lot of research & trying my best to spoil them. One was in rough shape, missing it's claw & in a cracked shell! I think we have a good set...
