Re: Did my crab molt?
Now to get him to get out of that stupid painted shell! [emoji23] he tried on another shell but went back to this one. I feel proud that he molted. It feels like a success. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Mama of 4 PP’s: Crabby, Hermie, Mr. Crabs, & Squidward Sent from my iPhone using...

Re: Did my crab molt?
The hairy legs and black toenails are signs of a molt. Thank you! He’s still cruising around this morning and ate the crap out of the egg shell I have in there. This makes me happy! •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Mama of 4 PP’s: Crabby, Hermie, Mr. Crabs, & Squidward Sent from my iP...

Re: New crabitat new owner
What is your substrate? Does it just smell like a wet soil smell instead of moldy?

Did my crab molt?
So, this is Crabby. He’s my biggest crab. I haven’t seen him in about 2 weeks or so since I set up my new crabitat. He instantly dig down and I had t seen him since. My daughter saw him crawling on the side of my moss pit and I got excited and instantly picked him up to look at him and say hi. And I...

Re: We Have Strawberry Eggs!!!!
I think this is soooo exciting... I hope everything works out as it should and we can have little strawberry babies in the future! How incredible that is. Maybe I missed it but did you share the pic you did manage to get of them mating? I’m just curious. [emoji6] Thanks! [emoji3590]Dave the Wonderc...

Re: Hmmm?
Nothing with seeds. And I’m not surprised they haven’t messed with anything because since I put a crap ton of EE in my tank, I haven’t seen my crabs at all. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Hmmm?
So I walk past my tank just now and I see this! I thought it was growing from the driftwood, but it was under it in the EE. Is this bad? I pulled it BTW.

Re: Newbie-ish. [emoji23]
I’ll have to do the Saran Wrap. And idk the temp of the tank.curlysister wrote:You can cover it with Saran Wrap. That's all I had on the top of my first two tanks. Cheap and fast, and will immediately help the humidity.
What is the temperature in the tank?

Re: Newbie-ish. [emoji23]
You mean it's inside the tank or outside the tank? You will also need to know the temperature inside the tank. It sits on top of the tank on the outside. My tank has a mesh lid. I know that’s not good. I’m working on finding something that fits it that’s solid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Newbie-ish. [emoji23]
Also, HCA recommends 3-5 extra shells per crab. Check out the 'shells' guide, as there are proper and improper shells to buy. When they change into a natural shell, remove the painted one. Do you have a hygrometer / thermometer? I have a hygrometer that just sits on the top of the tank. It sits aro...

Newbie-ish. [emoji23]
Hello all. My name is Dawn and I am a new-ish crab owner to 4 hermits. I have NO clue what kinds they are. But I am working on building my tank slow & steady. I just redid it and added more substrate. But it’s all eco-earth and no sand. I didn’t learn that until after I redid my tank. [emoji2360][em...
