Re: Build Diary - The Curio Crab-inet
Oh, haha! I see! Yes! So the door to access the entire crabinet is on the right. To keep the substrate in, I siliconed in a sheet of plexiglass in front of the door. There's about a 3-inch gap between the top of that plexiglass and the lowest shelf, so I can just poke the nozzle of my mister in the...

She does take the best pictures!! It's a compliment Wodesorel! I do realize that it's not fair to ask of you though. I know you do a lot. I'm sorry. I don't want you to be overwhelmed. I don't even do a good job managing my own IG page! I'm happy to start posting pictures to the IG page for us. I h...

Re: Hermit Crab Intelligence in 2020
I like to believe that hermit crabs have emotions and feelings and thoughts. I agree that you can see distinct traits in different crabs, and preferences for food and shells, and that has to suggest some level of intelligence. I wish the scientists would put some funding into that! XD Sent from my S...

Re: Adding Sub with buried crabs
All done adding the first inch. I was able to remove most of the decor, since most of it just rests on the surface. I was so anxious putting the water dishes back in (since they're heavy), and I'm worried about the amount of pressure I used to push the sub under the platforms. I was as gentle as pos...

Re: Adding Sub with buried crabs
Thank you so much for your reassurance! Owning crabs is already a stressful hobby, so dealing with unusual situations makes it even scarier.
Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll get started tonight!

Re: Tank DECOR IDEAS!!!!!!
Make a popsicle stick bridge! You just need the sticks (you can get a box of 1000 for like $5) and twine to weave around the ends, over-under style. I made this one for my crabbies! You can also build hides and structures out of legos. I've also gotten fish tank decor like coral archways and wrapped...

Re: Adding Sub with buried crabs
Cohld you just add what you can, and push it underneath the platforms? Otherwise, I'd just add what I can in the areas thats easily accessible if you're worried about cravs being under. (The issue is that you dont want to pat it down, hence whhy many reccomend a shallow inch per day layer.) I don't...
